Resolved: No government is preferable to an oppressive government

thett3

Thanks to Zaradi for agreeing to debate this with me for the semifinal round of the DDO tournament. Standard rules apply. No semantics, no new arguments in the last round, ect. As we're both experienced debaters I dont really think we need to worry about this coming down to a definitions or semantics war, but its always best to make sure. Round one is acceptance and I look forward to the debate....

Firearms shouldn't be regulated any further, and CCW location bans should be lifted.

bladnik26

Obviously due to the recent Newtown shooting there has been a spike in talks of the second amendment and if it should be altered. When I hear these bickering politicians it annoys me because the decision seems obvious. I believe very strongly that high-powered rifles and semi-auto firearms should not be illegalized just because of one incident. I also think that if 26 adults were gunned down in an office building, that no one would notice. Finally I think that a quick and easy way to solve the p...

Legalize Gay Marriage Federally

Jordeef

I will be arguing that legalizing Gay Marriage federally is not beneficial to the United States of America. (Federally - by legislative action that applies to all states.) My opponent will be arguing that the federal legalization of Gay Marriage is beneficial to our nation. (Beneficial - anything that causes our nation to be improved morally, economically, fundamentally, and/or ethically. Beneficial is also anything that positively affects the United States of America). The first round will b...
