Minimum Wage Should Be Abolished in the United States

YoungWisdom
Crazy4Steelers07

By supporting minimum wage, you're assuming that employers have all the control in terms of how much they pay their employees, and that an employer and their employee can't negotiate wages. In this country, the GDP is high enough that nobody is going to agree to work for two cents an hour. For example, the employer and the employee can reasonably come to a compromise of say, for example, three dollars an hour. But how does this argue against minimum wage? Well, when you consider the fact that...

Resolved: That the United States Should Normalize Relations With Cuba

FirinMahLazor
Crazy4Steelers07

We stand Resolved: That the United States should normalize relations with Cuba. It is because the U.S. embargo is the main strain on relations between the two countries that Chris and I see the lifting of this strict trade and travel ban as the best way to normalize relations. Contention 1: Lifting the embargo would bring about substantial economic gains for both the United States. Using the most sophisticated and widely used economic impact assessment tool currently available, the REMI, Flor...

There should be a World Cup for American Football

Crazy4Steelers07

The world is changing. With faster communication, satellite television, and air travel. Any one anywhere can communicate with people all over the world about sports, watch sporting events from all over the world, and even fly to any sporting event anywhere in the world. The ultimate winner from this has been the World Cup of Soccer (To simplify this debate I will use Soccer for the international game of Futball and Football for the American game of football.) What happens there? Countries send t...

College Football D-I should have a Play-off System

Crazy4Steelers07

The BCS: The Bull Sh*t Championship. Look at any sport, where do computers and peoples opinions play any factor in who wins a championship? The best team is decided on the field, and through a play-off. Look at the MLB, MLL, MLS, NBA, and NHL they all have play-off systems. The NHL, MLB, and NBA all even have play-off systems for their minor leagues teams (NFL, MLL, and MLS don't have minor leagues). Each sports uses their own system, but they all work and at the end no one can doubt that the te...

Resolved: The user known as s0m31john ought to seriously consider reading the Naruto manga.

Logical-Master

Greetings. The resolution is exactly as it says. I won't begin arguing until the second round since it hasn't yet occurred to me how I actually wish to argue this. My opponent is free to begin the debate with his first round or wait for me to begin in round 2. It matters little to me. In addition, CON is more than free to define the resolution, but I reserve to the right to argue against his interpretation should I feel that it does not match the intentions of this debate (this is assuming he...

Resolved: The Woman's National Basketball Association should rescend their dress code.

Crazy4Steelers07

The dress code should be abolished so that the WNBA can be able to more successfully market their 'product' by allowing their women to wear more comfortable and attractive clothing during their contests. Revenues, including TV contracts, marketing, and ticket sales would drastically increase with the new outlook of the WNBA. The league would become much like what Women's Beach Volleyball is in the Olympics: The Conerstone of Entertainment. In this tough economic climate, the WNBA needs a boost....

It is morally permissible to kill one innocent person to save the lives of more innocent people.

Undebatably_Superior

This resolution is undeniably correct in saying that "It is morally permissible to kill one innocent person to save the lives of many innocent people." Before I begin, I offer the following definitions: Moral: of, pertaining to, or concerned with the principles or rules of right conduct or the distinction between right and wrong; ethical Morally: from a moral point of view Permissible: that can be permitted; allowable Innocent: free from legal or specific wrong; guiltless All defined...
