Should the juvenile criminal justice system focus on rehabilitation, punishment, or both?
I believe that the juvenile criminal justice system should focus on using rehabilitation as a punishment. What I mean by this is that rehabilitation is being used more for people who want it, and not always people who need it. Having said this, I feel as though if rehabilitation was used as a punishment rather than an exterior method to fix people that it would be a far more effective route in the juvenile justice system, not to mention that juveniles are easier to mold than adults.
