| About Me: | Education Director for Fresno Right to Life. Host of globally heard netcast: "Life Report: Pro-Life Talk. Real World Answers." Josh contends that the pro-life message can compete in the marketplace of ideas if properly understood and properly articulated. He's publicly debated leaders from Planned Parenthood, the National Abortion Rights Action League (NARAL), Georgians for Choice, and one of the leading abortion facilities in Atlanta. A gifted speaker, Josh frequently travels across the country as well as conducting occasional international speaking tours. Scott Klusendorf, founder and president of Life Training Institute and author of "The Case for Life," sums up Josh's expertise in one sentence: "Josh is an excellent communicator, a rising star, and one of the most talented young pro-life apologists I know." |

We Can Be Reasonably Confident that Abortion Entails the Killing of a Human Being

Last week Rasputin challenged me to this debate but I was too busy, so he graciously invited me to challenge him back when the business died down a little. We agreed on a title, and Rasputin decided on these definitions: Human: Homo sapiens sapiens Kill: Organismal death Here are a few other definitions for words I’ll use in my opening argument: Fertilization: The union of male and female gametes, during sexual reproduction, to form a zygote.[1] Organism: I’ll use Google’...
Human Life Begins at Fertilization

I believe by the end of the fertilization process, (instigated by two human beings) what follows is this: a living, whole organism of the human species. I believe the entity is biologically alive. I believe the entity is a whole organism. I believe the entity is biologically human. There are still some who believe at least one of the statements I've just made are false. I welcome anybody who feels that way to debate the issue with me.While there's much more to the abortion debate than just the bi...
Abortion Is Prima Facie Morally Wrong

Allow me to begin by saying how pleased I am to be debating Josh Brahm. I'm sure that many of you will never get to read a more powerful case for the pro-life position than the case you will read in the course of this debate. And I only hope that I can do as well while I proceed to defend the pro-choice position. In this debate I'm going to argue that abortion is not morally reprehensible and should not be illegal, given the actual qualities that a human fetus possesses. Unlike a person, a f...
Does Abortion Kill a Human Being?

I believe abortion kills a human being. We know the unborn is biologically a member of the human species, because she comes from human parents. Her DNA could also be tested in utero, and we would always find that she has human DNA. Most pro-abortion-choice people, however, agree with the above statement. Their issue is usually the question of whether the human entity killed is a "person," or a member of our species that has basic rights. The pro-choice advocate will usually poin...
