The earth is flat.

KthulhuHimself
Edlvsjd

The rules are simple. My opponent accepts the challenge in round one, and presents ONE of his strongest arguments in favour of the flat earth. Round two is where I present my opening argument, and in which my opponent attempts to rebut it. In round three, I will present my rebuttal for my opponent's strongest argument, and my opponent presents him counter-rebuttal for my refutation. Round four is where I present my counter-rebuttal for my opponent's refutation, and since round one is more or les...

A limitless god is impossible.

KthulhuHimself

Because the title of your previous challenge is not specific enough, I had thought it best to challenge the instigator (Donkey) to a formal debate with a more fitting title. In this debate, I will (yet again) present my mathematical proof that a limitless god is impossible; and will give the instigator a chance to see that it is indeed a proper mathematical proof. KthulhuHimself

1) For something to actually exist, it has to be objective.2) By definition, objectivity requires the objective concept to be well-defined (which cannot be paradoxical or internally contradictory).3) Well-ordered definitions require well-ordered formal languages, and in order for the definition to be non-paradoxical, and hence well-ordered, the defined concept must be completely limited by the defining language (to prevent Russell's paradox), i.e. cannot be the "highest" being.4) God is defined...

The earth is flat not spherical

Edlvsjd
KthulhuHimself

My opponent would like scientific proof of a divine creator. I feel that if there were scientific proof of a flat earth, this would in turn prove the former. My opponent will argue that the earth is spherical with empirical evidence, and I will argue that the earth is flat. Burden of proof is shared. Any media currently available can be used as evidence until that media or it's producer is proven falsified or untrustworthy. Opponent may start in R1 with his argument and forfeit the last round, o...
