Debate.org is a place for many people to come together in pure conversation and debate, it can be a major political issue, or just a simple dissimilarity. So how I ask the con, is debate.org bad?...

Death penalty

Kahvan

First off I would like to thank my opponent. (if she decides to accept this debate:p) I would argue against the death penalty, and I think this will be interesting because we are both LDS ^.^ So in this debate it would be perfectly acceptable to pull stuff from our beliefs. I would also like to say that I hope to keep this debate from getting ugly, mean, vicious or anything else like that. So, let the rounds begin....

Fun is more important than work

ExplodingNoob

Thank you to whoever accepts this debate Now for my point ~Without fun there would be no work. ~~Work is created to generate an income to pursue fun. ~~~If someone is truly having fun then they would not need to work. ~~~~Even if you are living on the streets with no home, no clothes, no nothing and you are still TRULY having fun. Then you are better off. Game On....

It is more likely that god exists than that he doesn't exist.

JeremyPearl

Because I am Pro, I will have to win this debate by a ratio of 51% to 49%. I'll start with my first 50 arguments. Good luck. (1) If reason exists then God exists. (a) Reason exists. (b) Therefore, God exists. (2) If I say something must have a cause, it has a cause. (a) I say the universe must have a cause. (b) Therefore, the universe has a cause. (c) Therefore, God exists. (3) I define God to be X. (a) Since I can conceive of X, X must exist. (b) Therefore, God exists. (4)...

Kahvan

Ultimate Team War: GeorgeCarlinWorshipper Style

GeorgeCarlinWorshipper
Logical-Master

Hi, this is GCW here with my first UTW battle. I want to thank MTGandP for the UTW concept and LM for agreeing to this debate. Key terms: Combat Zone: The area within which the battle takes place. It is determined by a radius from the center of the specified area. The radius' length is determined by the distance from the center to either the highest point in the specified area or the area's edge. God-level: Capable of individually creating destruction too great to be reasonably avoided, b...

a thought to support gods existence

Kahvan

I have had a thought that I will disclose briefly. But the point of this argument is for me to support the thought that I am presenting. before I disclose this thought I would like to say 2 more things. This is my first debate. And even though whoever debates against me obviously disagrees hope to keep this somewhat friendly. Here is the thought process. Since god created all things that must mean god created evil? Since god cannot have any part of being evil then evil does not exist. which...

The paradox of the stone successfully disproves the Christian God.

mongeese

Full resolution: Because of the scenario introduced by the paradox of the stone, the God discussed in the Christian Bible (Yahweh) absolutely cannot exist in reality. The paradox of the stone is outlined here: http://en.wikipedia.org/Omnipotence_paradox In the first round, my opponent will just accept this debate and establish the paradox of the stone, and explain in her own words how the omnipotence paradox disproves the Christian God. In Rounds 2-4, we will debate over the legitimacy...
