Ability to control other's perception of time is the strongest super power

Hello, this is my first debate that I started. This will be an experiece for me and I would like to thank my opponent for accepting this debate In this debate, I will argue that having the ability to control the perception of time in others is the best ability a fictitious character can posses. Con will argue for a diffrent power. Limitations on this power are: 1)Range: up to a certian range can the percieved time be stopped 2)Time: For the character who posses this power, this power stop...
The ending to Lost was lame

Definitions: The American Heritage Dictionary (2009) defines "lame" as "unsatisfactory." [1] I will show why the ending was unsatisfactory to fans of the series. I'll begin my argumentation in the second round. My opponent should reserve his or her arguments for round 2 as well. I look forward to a fun debate. [1] http://www.thefreedictionary.com/lame...
Tuvix Was Murdered

Preamble The 24th episode of the 2nd series of Star Trek: Voyager is entitled ‘Tuvix' in this episode the crewmembers Tuvok, and Neelix are ‘merged' into a single being by a transporter accident. The resulting being subsequently takes the name of Tuvix. A method of separating the two is later developed and Captain Janeway performs the process resulting in the demise or destruction of Tuvix and the restoration of Tuvok and Neelix. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tuvix Resolution Within the con...
Fun is more important than work

Thank you to whoever accepts this debate Now for my point ~Without fun there would be no work. ~~Work is created to generate an income to pursue fun. ~~~If someone is truly having fun then they would not need to work. ~~~~Even if you are living on the streets with no home, no clothes, no nothing and you are still TRULY having fun. Then you are better off. Game On....
Using a time machine to go back and kill Hitler would be a bad idea.

I thank my opponent for the chance to debate. My opponent may not argue from semantics, as it is clear what the resolution states, although an exception may be made if he/she comes up with a particularly interesting objection to the resolution. Firstly, an argument against the viability of time travel itself; -- The Classic Paradox -- First, imagine time travel were made possible, and somebody travels back in time in order to meet their grandfather, whom they never knew. Now, say that...
Two heads are better than one

They say "two heads are better than one" and they are right. I'm not talking about conjoined or Siamese twins here by the way - where two foetuses become fused in the womb and two distinct babies are born attached to each other - I'm talking about those fortunate mutants who are born with one body and two heads. The advantages of having two heads are manifold. Below are three that come to my head immediately (though there'd be six if I was lucky enough to have two heads). 1 – Save valuable...
Batman is Partially Responsible for the Crimes of the Joker

::Introduction:: I challenge the talented and well-versed sherlockmethod to what is sure to be a very fun debate. Good luck to my opponent and enjoy the read! Full Resolution: The fictional character known as the Batman is partially responsible for some of the crimes of the fictional character known as the Joker. I shall argue in favor of the resolution and my opponent shall argue against it. I ask that my opponent take the contrary position (i.e. Batman is not partially responsible...) ra...
Ultimate Team War: Maikuru vs. MTGandP

This is another installment of Ultimate Team War. Each debater must assemble a team of five individuals, and the teams will then fight to the death. Since we cannot have an actual real-life battle, each debater will explain why their team is superior during this debate. DEFINITIONS Team leader: One of the debaters here, i.e. me or MTGandP. Team member: One of the five chosen warriors. Team Pro: My team. Team Con: My opponent's team. VOTING Conduct: Vote for both normal conduct and who...
Olympic Spirit is Dead

I pose the argument that the olympic spirit is dead, I am for this. The definition of the olympic spirt can be broadly interpreted, so ill use this website as a baseline for what I interpret the olympic spirit to be. http://www.olympicspirit.org/mission.php eg. unifying the world through competetive athletecisim, in which the athletes observe the ideals of fairplay and sportsmanship. I think that modern day olympics has evolved to become an event which wears these ideals as a badge wh...
Punishing a group for an individual's actions

My opinion is that punishing a group of people as a whole for the actions of an individual or multiple individuals is never the right choice especially in an educational setting. My stance on this issue is based off of previous experiences as a student when multiple times a teacher punished the entire class for the actions of an individual. I believe that this form of punishment is ineffective because the majority of the cases the person or persons who misbehaved simply did not care about...
