Should Tenures Be Taken Away

This is a debate of tenures for teachers. The definitions are to be set such that: Tenures are to be defined as allowing a teacher to be guaranteed the teaching position for the rest of their life (just for this debate to simplify definitions). All terms and words are to be based on the U.S. culture, economy, system(s), etc. Pro will be for the removal of tenures while Con will be for the status quo which is the existence of tenures. First round is acceptance....
Ban Trade With China
This is a debate of whether or not trade with China should be banned. The parameters are to be set for trading with the US and trading is limited in definition to being only for tangible elements or items not including intellectual items. This was a class debate. I won, but my friend (who was my opponent) wants me to debate on DDO to be his "rematch." First round is acceptance....
Death Penalty
I don't believe that serious criminals should be sentenced to death. Horrible crimes, like murder or rape, don't deserve a quick exit. The criminals will die at some point anyway, so why not keep them in jail until their deaths? It's worse....
Population Control
This is an argument about Population Control. The debate will center upon the issue of whether or not population sizes should be lowered with respective sides, Pro and Con for limiting sizes and against limiting sizes. Perimeters are to be set in California society, customs, and laws. My fellow debator, Bobbyluig is in California, as these are of common sense between us. I will play devils on this one to gain some perspective into another's thoughts. First round is acceptance....
Death Penalty
This is a debate about Death Penalty legalization. Con will be against legalization and Pro, for the death penalty. Parameters are to be set to be for California law, society, and culture. Death penalty is applicable in this debate only for legal death through court proceedings. First round is acceptance....
Gun Rights

This is a debate about gun rights. The parameters are to be set for Californian law, society, and customs. My fellow debate resides in California so this would account as common knowlege and assumed conditions for both of us. Definition set for gun rights: The legal right to posses a gun under proper licensing in California. First round is acceptance....
Medical Marijuana
This is a debate about legalization for medical marijuana. The perimeters are to be set as Californian law, customs, and society. My fellow debator, bobbyluig, resides in California, so this pertains as common knowledge for both debators. Definiton of medical marijuana: Marijuana used as a herbal therapy or some other type of medicine prescibed by a physician. First round is acceptance....
Gay Marriage
This is a debate that Gay Marriage should not be legal where limits are to be set for Californian law and customs. Gay Marriage is defined as being: Lawful Marriage between 2 people of same gender. There are 3 points supporting gay marriage: 1. First and foremost, America in general is founded on the civil liberties and freedom for all including for gay people to be allowed to marry. 2. Current California law makes gay marriage illegal. This however, violates the 1st Amendment as well...
Should illiterate or uneducated people be allowed to vote?

Uneducated or illiterate people should not be allowed to vote. To precisely define the term illiterate and uneducated allow me to clarify: Illiterate refers to the inability to read while uneducated refers to people that have not graduated high school. The logic behind this is to be directed towards an American legal viewpoint. There are 3 arguments for this: 1. People that cannot read show an inability to make the right judgement because of their education. 2. Voting is to give the bes...
