| About Me: | Lets see, I am a fella, I am 6'1" and ...wait you don't care about what I look like? Fine...geez. I have been a debater since I was in 7th grade (and I am in my masters degree this year) so I have been doing it a while, forgive me if I over define things in my debates that is my philosophy training kicking in. I see both sides of most issues but I usually end up thinking one side is more right than another but it will take me a while, however I do enjoy well crafted arguments even if I don't personally agree with it. Other than that I am simple sorta guy, you can message me on the facebook, I like meeting new people. And that is basically it. PS. I like long walks on the beach and dancing...(still don't care do ya? drat!) Oh and that is me in the picture petting a tiny mouse...take that for what you will. |

Vigilantism is justified when the government has failed to enforce the law.

Batman.........thats my argument :]...
Resolved: The United States ought to submit to an international court designed to prosecute CAH.

I don't really want to debate but could someone review my case and refute it to see if I've got any flaws and such and if so, offer me any ideas? I stand in negation of the resolution I offer the following definitions taken from Black's Law Dictionary Submit: A yielding to the authority of will of another Jurisdiction: A government's general power to exercise authority over all persons and things within its territory Crimes against Humanity: Int'l law. A brutal crime that is not...
Freedom of Speech

I agree with the First Amendment of the Constitution, however I do not believe that the right of freedom of speech should include all people. I believe that the rights given by the first amendment should not include hate groups such as the KKK. My reasoning behind this is simple. The constitution was created to advance our nation as a whole, and if we allow groups - created to incite violence or hatred in others, our country cannot continue to succeed as a country....
Swearing is not bad.

Swearing, cursing, having a "sailor's tongue", what have you, is fine and dandy with me. American culture, however, tends to deem it inappropriate for everyday usage. It is something that is shunned and swept under the rug. Uttering a one or two syllable word in your high school can get you in trouble if overheard by an authority figure. Slip up once in Church and you'll get lots of dirty looks. Say a "vulgar" word in front of somebody's kid and you might be admonished. Why? I've often challe...
is civil disobedience still necessary in a democracy?

In the past, there are many times when civil disobedience has brought about a change. Ghandi, Martin Luther King Jr, and Rosa Parks are all prime examples. But in today's society, we no longer need to disobey the law in order to bring about change. There are court procedures, you can talk to any official... All of these are nonviolent ways of brining about a change, the only difference is, one is legal....
