Shooter McGavin was right

MrMarkP37
slobodow

I will use the first round to define the thesis and introduce my idea. In round two I will show examples for my arguments. Shooter McGavin: The character from the movie Happy Gilmore was right: By this I mean that if you view things from his point of view his actions are easily defendible and not really that bad. Making him a complicated bad guy, that could be identified with, which also portrays Happy in a somewhat bad light. As I said earlier, this will be a four round debate, though I...

Conspiracy IV: WTC 7

JustCallMeTarzan
MrMarkP37

The proposition on offer is that the building known as WTC7 collapsed on 9/11/2001 as a result of damage sustained from the collapse of WTC 1 and 2 and the subsequent fires inside the building. ***************************************** There are 2 primary contentions that argue against the story above. 1) WTC7 collapsed very quickly - in about 7 seconds. If you actually watch a video of the collapse, it takes more like 12 or 13. The collapse begins in the upper penthouse, which falls...

Islam provides a framework for world peace.

MrMarkP37

This debate is a challenge to bluefreedom23 based on his earlier debate http://www.debate.org/debates/Islam-is-currently-more-dangerous-to-world-peace-and-free-thought-than-any-other-religion/1/. I will throw it open, if he declines or suggests unacceptable alterations. There are few special rules for this debate, listed at the end. Accepting this debate implies that the Con agrees with them. Voters are requested to judge accordingly. The first round is not meant for actual arguments. We w...

A mixed economy more dependent on socialism in beneficial to the United States

MrMarkP37
BEN875

Definitions: Mixed Economy: an economic system containing aspects of both capitalism and socialism Socialism: An economic system that vests the ownership, capital and means of production into the community as a whole. I am not advocating complete socialism. What the thesis is proposing is that the people of the United States would be more successful as a group if our mixed economy moved from more capitalistic to more socialist. Even though this is a three round debate, I will allow my...

The cookie stand IS part of the food court

MrMarkP37
BEN875

I would like to define the cookie stand as being the one upstairs in The Mall. I would further like to define the food court as a common area within a mall or other building where people sit down to eat their food. I will concede that in The Mall the food court is located downstairs. I will proceed to argue this debate wolvie-bazerk style. When the debate is over I expect the son of Jor-El to kneel before Zod and remember parents, teach your children to fear and respect that escalator....

Soup is not a meal. Jerry Seinfeld was supposed to buy Kenny Bania a meal.

BEN875
MrMarkP37

Kenny Bania gives Jerry Seinfeld a brand new Armani suite and tells Jerry that they can call it even if Jerry takes him out for a meal sometime. Armani suites run somewhere between $1,000 and $2,000. Nobody could ever find a better deal than that. Jerry accepts the offer and then takes Kenny out to a restaurant called Mendys a couple days later. Kenny, who is full from a hot dog he ate earlier, orders a bowl of soup. After that, in an unbelievably unappreciative moment, Jerry tries to cheap shot...
