| About Me: | I don't know why you'd want to concern yourself with this. If you do, ask me a question. Oh, and maybe so I repeat myself a little less, I CANNOT VOTE ON THIS WEBSITE NOOBS. My "looking" status is as it is primarily due to the requirement to be honest about keeping my eyes open. It does not go to the extent of bending my neck often :D |
| Beliefs: | I am an Objectivist, though more aligned with the David Kelley/TAS faction than the Leonard Peikoff/ARI faction. For those unfamiliar with this, it means, in short, that in matters of ultimate reality, what you see is what you get; that reasoning from experience and the abstractions made from experience is the root of all knowledge; that I live my life as an end in myself, and that the only societal arrangement compatible with these statements is the free market- the prohibition of non-retaliatory force and fraud against persons and their property from human relations. |

When people are talking about morality, they are attempting to convince someone to take or not to take an action (and when they are thinking about it, deciding whether to take an action). Advocating something makes no sense if you do not wish to achieve something by it....
Legend of the Seeker stays true to The Sword of Truth books.

The Legend of the Seeker, based on Terry Goodkind's Sword of Truth book series, has certainly taken some liberties with the show but still stays true to the story. Ignoring all the massive liberties taken with the show I will explain why this show stays true to the books. to an Extent at least. 1. The original story of Richard accepting the position of Seeker and undertaking the quest to defeat Darken Rahl and gather the Boxes of Orden are still there. 2. Zedd is still his Grandfather....
There is no Reason to be "Good"

I am arguing that there is no ultimate reason behind morality like there is behind things of science. Thus, I am also assuming that there are no moral truths, or no a priori morality, so no guideline or ideal to which we might compare ourselves. So take note, I don't mean that there IS a reason to be BAD, I just titled the debate to imply a hopeless lack of morality in our world, or reason for morality, rather. "Good"--describing action or deliberation that is compassionate or done towards t...
Sex ed in schools?!?

Sex, its all around us there are two types of sex ed that schools teach. There is the way of abstinence and there is comprehensive sex ed.. So what's the difference? Is there an economic tie in..?? YES! It has been proved that schools that teach abstinence over comprehensive sex ed get paid more money from the government! This is outrageous! As a student I feel that depriving the youth of comprehensive sex ed only leads to questions.. Do you honestly think in the world we live in every sex quest...
