|About Me:||I am a top Sales person for a branch of the TruGreen Lawn Care Company, and I do rap battles on the side for extra money, and am working on music with my group as well.|
|Activities:||Working, performing and recording Hip-Hop, philosophizing, and partying with my friends (I'm sure there are more but those are my main activities).|
|Beliefs:||I am a Monistic Idealist when it comes to my metaphysical ontology of the mind and reality. What that means is that I believe that all reality is in mind/ consciousness; there is no non-mental "material" reality at all. I do not adhere to any particular religion, and I would consider myself Secular because of that. I take mostly liberal views when it comes to Politics, in that I am not opposed to gay marriage, am Pro-Choice, and don't mind more taxes every once and a while if it means better social programs (along with other things).|
|Books:||The Grand Design by Stephen Hawking, and Lord of the Flies by William Golding.|
|Movies:||Equilibrium, The Matrix, Inception, and Primer.|
|Music:||I like anything besides Country music pretty much. Mostly, however, I listen to Hip-Hop. Although, it wouldn't be rare to find me listening to Classical Opera.|
|Quotes:||"A dream you dream alone is only a dream. A dream you dream together is reality." - John Lennon|
"I regard consciousness as fundamental. I regard matter as derivative from consciousness. We cannot get behind consciousness. Everything that we talk about, everything that we regard as existing, postulates consciousness." - Max Planck, Father of Quantum Theory
"Reality is merely an illusion, albeit a very persistent one." - Albert Einstein
"All the choir of heaven and furniture of Earth - in a word, all those bodies which compose the frame of the world - have not any subsistence without a mind." - George Berekeley
"It was not possible to formulate the laws of quantum mechanics in a fully consistent way without reference to the consciousness." - Eugene Wigner
"The Universe begins to look more like a great thought than like a great machine." - Sir James Jeans
"The universe, then, consists entirely of mind-stuff." - William Kingdon Clifford
|Sports Teams:||I don't really care too much for sports really.|
|TV Shows:||The 100, Breaking Bad, Dexter, and The Big Bang Theory.|
God is defined as the omnipotent, omniscient, and omnibenevolent cause of all contingent being. P1: If gratuitous suffering probably exists, then God probably does not exist P2: Gratuitous suffering probably exists C: Therefore, God probably does not exist --- I will be arguing that the premises are most plausibly true; the first round is for acceptance....
The fine-tuning of the universe (by fine-tuning I mean that which involves strictly the different parameters and physical constants, not about designed life versus Darwinism) for the existence of intelligent life is often posited as a reason to infer a designer of the initial conditions of the univserse. The argument is as follows: P1: The fine-tuning of the universe is due to either physical necessity, chance, or design P2: The fine-tuning of the universe is not due to physical necessity...
I am going to argue that the standard Big Bang model entails a logical and mathematical impossibility. First round for acceptance....
The Kalam Cosmological Argument is as follows: P1: Whatever begins to exist has a cause P2: The universe began to exist C: Therefore, the universe has a cause The advocate of this argument must show that the argument is successful. My job in this debate will be to undermine my opponent's reasoning for affirming the soundness of the argument. My opponent will present his/ her opening arguments in the first round (the first round will be for Pro to present arguments, not for merely...
Physicalism is the doctrine which essentially states that everything is physical. I am going to argue that this thesis is probably false. What does it mean for something to be physical? I think the most comprehensive definition is as follows: X is physical if it is spacetime, or is a field, force, piece of matter or energy within spacetime (or a collection of any of them). First round is for acceptance....
