An non interventionist strategy is the best way to curb population growth

We have a population crisis on our hands whether people want to accept it or not, let alone openly talk about it. The human populace will reach an unsustainable level at some point in the future if it continues to grow at the same exponential rate of 1.2% (1). •	Abortion	ProComments Pro-choice. Don't know if I'm "pro-abortion," because lets face it, I'm not exactly in a position where it will come up
•	Affirmative Action	ConComments I'm all for getting minorities into more qualified positions, but this kind of thing only breeds resentment and abuse. Fund schools and programs to help people get these qualifications, and punish those that discriminate - but don't force individuals
•	Border Fence	ConComments Not a good idea. It will waste money and lets be honest - a fence isn't going to stop people from getting over for very long. There are better solutions, like helping Mexico actually deal with its problems.
•	Campaign Finance Reform	ProComments As a Canadian, I know some of the many problems that can arise from financing abuse.
•	Civil Unions	ProComments Only because I believe that people have a right to be in whatever kind of union they wish, whether it is marriage, civil union, common-law, etc.

•	Flat Tax	UndComments I'm unsure about this. It is the proper way to do things from a social standpoint, but economically - at this point in time - I think it would place too much burden on the middle class, because we have to make the shortfall up somewhere.
•	Gay Marriage	ProComments Every individual has a right to take part in this ceremonial commitment, regardless of their gender or beliefs.
•	Global Warming Exists	ProComments I believe this is a product of natural cycles, more than human tinkering.
•	Gun Rights	UndComments What is the 'right to a gun'? The right to protection? A check against tyranny? Or just a bad idea? I think allowing individuals the right to own a weapon is something that should be protected, but I do think it must be controlled.
•	Labor Unions	ConComments No one can deny the huge strives that unions have done in the field of worker's rights. But in this day and age, they seem more about greed and corruption, than worker's rights. Labour laws are strong, so do we really need the unions?
•	Late Term Abortion	ProComments It must be treated the same as anything else. It is a right, and I support that right. But the nature of it means that we need to look in to how we can avoid problems. I support allowing late-term abortions only on the recommendation of a doctor.
•	Medicaid & Medicare	N/OComments I'm a single-payer man. But good programs.
•	Medical Marijuana	ProComments It has shown to be beneficial, so why should we not use it? Under controlled circumstances, of course.
•	Minimum Wage	ProComments I've seen the arguments against it, and I don't think they're as major as so many people say. Minimum wage allows someone like me, a menial worker, the ability to pay for the high cost of living that comes with Canadian society. Its good.
•	Missile Defense System	ConComments I don't doubt the US has the capability to create these systems. I also don't doubt their effectiveness. I don't want them on my soil, though. At least, not right now.
•	NAFTA	ProComments I love NAFTA. It has brought so much good to Canada, and it has helped create a more viable trading relationship with our southern neighbors. It has some kinks, but I'm confident that with time, they'll straighten out.
•	National Health Care	ProComments Canada's health care system has kept me healthy and happy, literally since the day I was born. It isn't perfect, but that just means trying to fix whats wrong - not scrapping the entire thing, especially considering all the good it does.
•	National Retail Sales Tax	ProComments From what I know of it, it is similar to the GST/PST/HST system we have here. It isn't bad, and I feel fine with such a system.
•	Patriotism	ProComments I love my country. I would consider myself a patriot in a lot of circumstances. But the term has been used by those that are not patriots at all. Being a patriot is about loving the positives, and wanting to change the negatives - not being a maniac.
•	PETA	ConComments I am not for any organization that continues to show Canadian seal hunters as murdering cute fluffy seals, when those seals haven't been on the legal list since the 1980's.
•	Police Profiling	ConComments I understand that it might be preventative of some situations - but those are a minority. There are other ways to catch bad guys.
•	President George W. Bush	ConComments I don't personally mind the guy. I think he handled a tough situation well, and he had some excellent economic and social policies in mind. The problem was, he never acted on them either because he wouldn't or couldn't. Then there was that Iraq thing
•	Progressive Tax	UndComments It is wholly unfair, but it makes excellent economic sense.
•	School Vouchers	N/OComments Don't know, don't care.
•	Social Programs	ProComments You can't be a government if you're not going to say something about society. I'm of the thought that government should complement society's impulses; others believe that they should be controlled. Either way, social programs make their mark.
•	Social Security	ProComments It is an important backbone of yesterday's, today's, and tomorrow's society, and as we continue to make this transition from a young and manufacturing society, to old and knowledge-based, it will be even more important.
•	Term Limits	ConComments Eh. If someone is given a mandate by the population to continue governing, they shouldn't be stopped until they inevitably lose that mandate.
•	Tobacco Rights	N/OComments What is a tobacco right? The right to smoke? Sure, so smoke your lungs out. Just don't smoke near me.
•	United Nations	ProComments Corrupt and ineffective, yes. But it has a purpose; it provides a basic structure of dialog and co-operation that has never before been seen between nations. It is far from perfect, but it is a start.
•	United States	ProComments I like the US, and I like Americans. It is a country that should be looked up to as one of the greatest. But, there is so much that needs to change. I am confident, though, that Americans will drive that change themselves.
•	War in Afghanistan	UndComments I'm supportive, but I'm not. Afghanistan had the right idea in mind, but I fail to see a purpose coming out of it now. The opportunity for a successful operation, and a successful nation-building exercise, has already passed.
•	War in Iran	ConComments Why would anyone support a war in Iran? Iraq wasn't bad enough, now we must attack a much better prepared and much more stigmatized country?
•	War in Iraq	ConComments The Great War of Distraction was such a bad idea from its initial concept in whomever's head. It has damaged the West's influence in the world, and been too large of a hole for American money which could have been spent better elsewhere.
•	War on Terrorism	UndComments How do you declare war on a concept? I don't know. It was botched from the beginning, and it seems it will be botched until the end. I understand the justification for it, but so far it has just been a huge money-hole.
•	Water Boarding	ConComments I cannot support any form of torture.
•	Welfare	ProComments Welfare is needed because quite frankly, there are those out there that need the help. The state in its duty as an entity designed to protect and further the rights of individuals should provide that help when required. But, I'm for stricter control.
•	World Trade Organization	ProComments Why not? Trade is what sustains our global economy, and having an organization dedicated to increasing that trade is a step in the right direction.
