science cant prove aliens are not true based on lack of evidence, so does that mean that aliens are true or false to a science believer? and based on what?
SlenderKitty

Con

I accept the debate, and wish Pro luck.

Science can't prove that "aliens" (which I assume you mean life forms on planets other than Earth) exist, but it's a popular idea. First of all, just because something isn't proven doesn't mean it doesn't exist. Things like that occurs even in math, in the form of postulates. That being said, it is a postulate that their are other life forms in space. We believe this because:

1. There are a lot of other astronomical objects, so there is a high probability that at least one of them (other than our own) would contain life forms.

2. Life forms can spring up quickly.

3. Life forms can also survive in extreme conditions.

As of whether a "science believer" thinks that aliens are real or not, the category "science believer" is far too broad to give a yes/no answer.

are aliens true or false?

im not talking about some bacteria on the moon or something
SlenderKitty

Con

By "aliens," do you mean plants/animals or humanoid creatures? It is more probable that there are plants/animals on a different planet than humanoid creatures, although both are still rather probable. As I have said before, due to the amount of planets that exist currently, there is a high likelihood that aliens are out there somewhere.

It's impossible to say definitively whether aliens exist. The question you ask me to answer is similar to the question of "does God exist?" No matter how you look at it, there is no proof of any answer being true. It is simply a postulate, as I have said before.

just an alien.. unknown

are they true or false?
SlenderKitty

Con

How can you expect me to answer the unknown?

"just an alien.. unknown"
This does not answer anything. By your "unkown," an alien by your definition could be anything living. You simply can not expect me to answer something like this with a simple "true or false."

Please make your argument clearer. I am not 100% sure that I even know what you are debating now.

is the unknown true?

read the question at the top..
SlenderKitty

Con

"is the unknown true?"

That question is impossible to answer.

so aliens are true?
SlenderKitty

Con

"so aliens are true?"

We don't know. That's the simple answer to it. According to probability, they probably are true, but there's no proof of alien lifeforms. So until then, believe what you want.

fact=truth, not true and false

truth can only be in the past, and only now is matter

The true answer to that question is a fact. I do not know what the fact is.

Oh, that's interesting.

It's a fact that high quality potatoes are tasty when boiled and mashed with salt and butter, to me.

Let's keep saying random things. It's productive.

Reasons for voting decision: Pro makes no argument and it is unclear why Pro thinks their question about whether aliens exist "destroys science". Pro demonstrates a deep lack of any education in science or about science (does Pro know what science is?) and Con responds to everything more thoroughly than is required.
