Pro I have to show that the equation 2+2=5 can be made into a true statement. First round is acceptance. I will demonstrate that 2+2 can equal 5 in the 2nd round. Con will try to refute my arguments in the 2nd round.Report this Argument Con I accept.Report this Argument Pro 2+2=5 This can be said to be true for large values of 2. What this means is that every number within the equation is a rounded number. 2.4+2.4=4.8 Now, let's round each number to the nearest integer. 2.4 rounded to the nearest integer is 2. 4.8 rounded to the nearest integer is 5. So, let's analyze this: Step 1 (equation): 2.4+2.4=4.8 Step 2 (rounding): ~2+~2=~5 Conclusion: 2+2=5 So, the equation of 2+2=5 can be considered a true statement if: 1) The 2's are a large value of 2 2) The 5 is the rounded answer Now, onto Con to refute my arguments.Report this Argument Con That1User forfeited this round.

That sucks

Timing was an issue. I intended to do the argument after I got home from school but I was too late. I'm sure I could have done it if I wasn't busy doing other things. It was hard for me to refute, then I just forgot about it.

Did you not have time to make the argument?

And there goes both my elo and my win percentage...

What you're doing is taking a statistics joke a bit too seriously. You have two problems. 2 /= 2.4, and 2+2 only approximates 5 to one digit. The statement 2+2=5 is universally incorrect for the commonly ascribed values and meanings to those symbols in base 10.

Note to all those complaining about my argument, I NEVER said that 2+2 always equals 5, I said it CAN be made to equal 5. I demonstrated a way that it could.

This is not a valid equation to be put on a plain wall.
It is like saying x+y=5 because x = 2 and y = 3
