3D printing is going to change what we know in business administration, logistics manufacturing and society.

Con

i would like to counter the previous statement by saying that 3d printing will have a minimum effect if any on business administration and other areas in which it can be used. You may use whatever arguments to defend your belief.

3D printing is a new technology with plenty different methods and materials. It is not fully developed and has already been used by many industries, replacing manufacturing techniques. That is the result of huge flexibility it offers, combining with geometrical complexity. And we should not forget the low cost of acquiring 3D printer compared with other machines. Also, research and development is promising and supported by huge economies. It is almost sure that when it is fully developed, will replace a big part of manufacturing techniques in industry.

In your argument you stated that acquiring 3d printers is cheap which it is but the problem is that the us of 3D printers can be pricey. After viewing a graph on the link posted below it has come to my attention that using 3d printers can be pricier than injection molding for anyone who plans on mass producing a product(which most industrial companies do). For this reason i cannot see companies switching to 3d printers since it is less profitable than more traditional manufacturing techniques.
Another reason why i cannot see companies switching over to 3d printers is that it can require up to 100 times as much energy as other methods. In this day and age in which saving energy is a key priority it would not be the dream of any manufacturer to shove these energy leeches in their where ever they would use them.

Reasons for voting decision: Conduct - Con. Pro forfeited the final round which is rarely acceptable in any debate setting. For that, Con wins conduct. S&G - Tie. Con forgot to capitalize "i" at the start of R1 and R3, yet the rest of his rounds and sentences all have proper capitalization. On the flip side, Pro had some minor grammatical errors. Thus, this balances out to a tie. I would strongly recommend that both debaters review their rounds to avoid making minor mistakes. Arguments - Con. Pro argued that 3D printing would help the manufacturing industry and costs less than other machines. Con rebutted these arguments by presenting a study which showed that the cost of printing at a manufacturing level is more than other machines, which negates Pro's cost argument. He then rebuts the benefits argument from Pro by arguing that the energy cost wouldn't be a benefit. Pro then forfeited, thus leaving Con's rebuttals to stand unchallenged. Thus Con wins arguments. Sources - Con. Pro didn't utilize sources, Con did.
