Heart Attack Grill owner Jon Basso is a talented satirist.

LukeTheSpook

Jon Basso, founder and owner of the Heart Attack Grill, is a very talented satirist. Although Basso is firstly a successful business man through his restaurant, he is also exposing a very potent message to the world about eating healthy and nutritious food. Some might believe that Basso is taking advantage of the obese patrons that often frequent his establishment. I disagree with the latter and believe that he is using his "patients" (per usual store lingo referring to customers) as the medium...

Vegetarianism/veganism

134340Goat
Valladarex

Hello. Here, I would like to argue that vegetarianism and veganism are both hypocritical in nature and achieve absolutely no purpose other than harming the vegetarian or vegan by providing a less healthy diet. My first argument is this: Some vegetarians/vegans claim that it is cruel to kill and eat animals. However, how is this any different from eating plants or fungi? No matter what you consume, you are eating another organism that was once alive. Some plants or fungi that are eaten are...

Too Much Coffee?

Guy_D
CrimsonArchitect

I drink coffee throughout my work day (7 cups). I'm told by my co-workers that I need to drink more tea and less coffee. Other than a little hyper active behavior, I think 7-10 cups of coffee a day is not too much to consume. And besides, this website that I randomly looked up says I'm on the right side! http://www.popsci.com/science/article/2013-02/why-coffee-good-you-here-are-7-reasons Actually, I would like to get the required three debates out of the way so I can vote other debates. He...

Adults smoking in a vehicle with children inside

katrilenyah
Ore_Ele

Adults and other smokers should not be allowed to smoke in a vehicle that has children , or young adults inside. Lung cancer not only affects smokers, but second hand smokers as well. I agree it should be up to the smoker if he/she smokes if they know the consequence and health risks involved but their choices should not affect another human beings health, especially a young child who may not have an understanding of how un-healthy smoking may be, or maybe too afraid to speak up and asked the sm...

Legalize Cannabis

Finalfan
A.WitherspoonVI

I don't really believe that marijuana is illegal for health reasons, or addiction! I don't believe that pot is any more dangerous than most products that are readily available! Without going into my argument against the Pharmaceutical companies or the alcohol and tobacco industries, I have to point out the amount of harmful substances that are mainstream and extremely addicting that cause serious health conditions! Sugar is the wolf in sheep's clothing while cannabis is the sheep in wolves cloth...

Legalising the Drugs Trade: Reducing Crime or Increasing Addiction?

dina.smagul
Smas1k_3531

In 2002 the Parliamentary Home Affairs Select Committee produced a report on UK drug policy. Its final recommendation called on the Government to initiate a discussion at the UN "of alternative ways " including the possibility of legalisation and regulation " to tackle the global drugs dilemma. Why would they have come to this apparently radical conclusion? First, regulating drugs is not radical, it is the norm for most globalised trades and widespread human behaviours (especially those that in...

Should gay adoption be allowed?

amandasole
michealt

Adoption is out of love and there are too many children either without parents or a home out there that need loving parents. Gay or not, if you have a stable relationship, adoption should always be available. 2011's APA Policy statement on Sexual Orientation clearly states the following, "The results of some studies suggest that lesbian mothers' and gay fathers' parenting skills may be superior to those of matched heterosexual parents. There is no scientific basis for concluding that lesbian...
