Is it better to have loved than never to have loved at all?

SaintMichael741
sakskidz

Good evening everyone! I would like to start a debate based off of a poem by Alfred Lord Tennyson called In Memoriam. The question is: is it better to have loved than to never have loved at all?

Rules:
-First round acceptance
-No citations needed
-No new arguments in the last round

I will be pro. My job will be to prove that it is better to have loved.
Whoever accepts this must prove that it is better to never have loved at all....

Math is more important in the grand scheme of the universe than English.

thispersonisagenius
Arcolithe

I believe, contrary to what a great deal of students today assert, that mathematics is extremely important to understanding the universe. Specifically, I find it to be much more useful than the English language as a whole, both in the real world and in school. If you do choose to debate this topic with me, be ready for a fairly long debate as well as about two days of waiting time for my posts, as I do have a very busy schedule as of now. Thanks for debating!...

Does Science Refute God?

joel.burgers
Fruitytree

The advancements of modern science have rendered the concept of God superfluous. All phenomena we experience can in principle be explained with reference solely to materialistic or naturalistic causes. This makes it unnecessary to postulate a Creator if we conform to Occam's Razor. Another reason is that a Creator has no explanatory power. Because the Creator is the very kind of thing that requires an explanation....

Does Marsellus Wallace look like a b*tch?

TheDarkMuffin
Badtothebone

I'd like to put forth the notion that there is a possibility that "Marsellus Wallace," a powerful mob boss in Los Angeles, looks like a b*tch. Other definitions will be put up more for connotation as the argument calls for. Sources can come from anywhere, and no suggestions will be made. I will be arguing that Marsellus Wallace does, indeed, look like a b*tch while my opponent will be arguing that, no, he doesn't. First round is acceptance. Second round will be arguments. Third round...

Resolved: that there are moral absolutes.

Happyreclusive
Valladarex

I set out to prove that there are moral absolutes. I"ll use "moral" and "ethical" synonymously, choosing one over the other as style dictates. By "absolute," I mean something is that true in all possible worlds, necessarily true, and true in all situations. For example, the judgment "lying is wrong" is necessarily true and there is no circumstance when lying is right."

My arguments are Kantian, so my opponent...
