Should abortion be legal in the United States?

G.limon
L.Quezada

Abortion has been around for years for a way for women to not have to give birth to a child but many disagree that it should be illegal as it is wrong. I disagree with this statement as their are many reasons why it should stay legal. Procon stated on their website on February 1st, 2017 that women can control their own bodies and have the right to do whatever they want with it including abortion. This allows women to pursue goals they want to achieve without the obstacle of having a child....

Does Abortion Kill a Baby?

Godstruth
Iacov

I want to debate someone who believes that abortion is not murder, because it does not kill a baby. I will argue the opposite. I believe that abortion is the termination of a human life, created by God, thus is murder. First round is acceptance only. Second round is for arguments, no rebuttals, and the last two rounds are for arguments and rebuttals. Good luck, Iacov!...

Abortion should be illegal

Deonatus
debatojenvo

I'd like to start off by saying I appreciate any time that anyone gives to this and also to clarify that I am arguing against abortions of any kind and for any reason except in the instance of danger to the mother. To be clear I am referring to abortions as the deliberate termination of a viable pregnancy and am not referring to instances where the fetus/embryo displays lethal developmental problems or is already dead. Let me also point out that I believe that many things should be legal even th...

Informal debate, so to speak. General rules:1) Don't be rude. 2) Don't be a kritik (i.e. say that there should be no gov't)3) Sources are required only if you make a scientific claim. 4) Enjoy yourself! This isn't supposed to be an incredibly proffesional debate, just stay on topic. With that, I'll give definitions:Abortion: the killing of a human fetus.Legal: permited by law.SkySky16 will begin arguments in R1, and waiv...

Should abortion be legal

MiguelF
n.vaughan

Abortions should be legal as Personhood begins after a fetus becomes viable or after birth, not at conception. According to the U.S. Supreme Court a person is to get their age when they are out of the mother's womb and breathing oxygen starting at the 0 mark eventually working their way up to be 1 years old....

Abortion should only be legal until a way is found to safely bring an embryo to term in a lab.

passwordstipulationssuck

Anyone taking an unconditional stance on abortion, whether in favor of it or opposed to it, would potentially be an acceptable opponent for this debate. Pity that the system doesn't allow for three sides, because I'd ideally have liked to see one representative from each camp. I'm approaching my position on this argument from a somewhat United States oriented ethical philosophy, so it would be helpful if you were generally accepting of US philosophies, at least in terms of the contents of the...
