My opponent will argue that Animals do not have rights. Here are my examples why they do have rights. First- Animals have "similar" rights as we do they may not be able to vote or do certain things that we humans can but here is some rights, they have the right to breath, they have right to live, the right to not be killed, and the right to not be held in captivity. Second- They have the right to do as they please, meaning they can think and do whatever action they choose....

Topic: A just government ought to grant non-human animals some rights. Round One: This is just for acceptance, rules, and definitions. Burdens: Burden of Proof is shared. Pro shows some rights should be granted; Con shows that some rights should not be extended. Provisos: (1) Let"s limit this to non-human, vertebrate members of the Kingdom of Animalia, (2) This is just a discussion in the abstract"do animals have some rights, it"s not about what particular rights the animals have, and (...

Round One: This is just for acceptance, rules, and definitions. Burdens: Pro has the burden to show that animals should have some rights and Con has the burden of showing that animals should have no rights. Provisos: (1) Let's limit this to non-human, vertebrate members of the Kingdom of Animalia, (2) This is just a discussion in the abstract--should animals have some rights, it's not about what particular rights the animals have, and (3) when I say some rights, that could mean one or more...

People who abuse, or abandon animals should be punished greatly. They should be tortured, rapped, or killed. I think that any of these would be great justice for the poor innocent animals that they mistreated. But I believe that they should be tortured, slowly, and very painfully. ((:...

Justice Requires the Recognition of Animal Rights

Mahatma Gandhi once said, "You can judge a society by how they treat their weakest members." This quotation was revolutionary and inspired many different social justice movements that saw greater racial tolerance, expanded rights for foster children, and the cultivation of religious understanding. In the spirit of Ghandi's life work I think that it is critical that we recognize the value that all members play within a society and therefore I stand resolved that Justice requires the recogniti...
