The United States should have a death penalty.

RoyLatham

The death penalty, i.e. capital punishment, is "execution of an offender sentenced to death after conviction by a court of law of a criminal offense." [1. http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/capital%20punishment] Currently 32 states and the Federal government have a death penalty. [2. http://www.deathpenaltyinfo.org/states-and-without-death-penalty]. Background inf...

The Death Penalty Should Be Used In Certain Cases

mongoose
mongeese

Resolved: The death penalty should be used in certain cases There are many cases in which the death penalty is just and should be used. For example, if a man is proven that, without a doubt, he killed another man, that murderer should be killed. While it would be profitable to use the people in prison to do labor, the prisoner should at least be given the option between death and working in prison for the rest of his life. Death penalty should remain

Off the bat, I will concede that the death penalty doesn't deter and costs more than life without parole That aside, we should punish people with what they deserve, regardless of cost. Justice should not be up for sale to the lowest bidder. Right now, I am going to respond to 7 typical anti-death penalty arguments: 1. Some say that the death penalty is wrong, and life in prison is worse anyway. I'm sorry but you can't argue on one hand that the death penalty is wrong and then argue...

Death Penalty

I am in favor of the death penalty. I believe that it is a proper form of law, effective punishment, and an appropriate way to serve justice. While I am in favor of the death penalty, I believe that it should also only be brought down on the convicted person under certain circumstances; severe ones, at that. Such as murder. The death penalty brings up an interesting axiom in life: An eye for and eye, and a tooth for a tooth. In this particular case, I'll take an eye...and maybe a t...

Abortion is murder and the death penalty is not.

I personally believe that the death penalty should be kept legal. I do not understand the argument that liberals make about how abortion should be kept legal but killing a mass murderer should not. If any one is willing to help me see the other side please do....

A just society ought NOT use the death penalty as a form of punishment.

When you hear the words "capital punishment" or "the death penalty", what thoughts come to your mind? Well, in the eyes of Thomas Eddlem, an American Civil Liberties Union representative, "Capital punishment, the ultimate denial of civil liberties, is a costly, irreversible and barbaric practice, the epitome of cruel and unusual punishment." It is because I agree with Thomas Eddlem and I support morality and human life, that I stand in strong affirmation of the resolution stated: Resolved: A...

The Death Penalty Ought to be Banned

MoonDragon613
JustCallMeTarzan

The Death Penalty ought to be banned. A. It is cruel and unusual B. Innocent people die C. It improves our relationship with other Western Democracies A. It is cruel and unusual. Ought being a moral term, not legal, I'm not going to mention the Constitution or the 14th Amendment (which applies the Bill of Rights to state governments). I am though going to show why the death penalty is cruel And unusual. It's cruel because it's a terrible way to die. The victim is made a spectacle of...

Those who oppose the Death Penalty should also appose abortion on demand.

I often hear people denunciate the practice of capital punishment because it's inhmane. Although I disagree, I understand the perspective. What puzzles me is the large percentage of those whom I discuss the issue are, in fact; pro-choice. Some become reticent when I include partial birth abortion, but still support the practice for reasons other than the mothers' life being endangered. I find that to be a conundrum. . ....
