man made global warming was probably having a significant impact on our environment

dairygirl4u2c

detractors from MMGW man made global warming, who say it's not ssignificant, and only a hoax, usually rely on sun flares and volanoes. if you don't know what i'm tlaking about, then don't debate me. essential facts. one is that studies have shown that the sun cycles have accounted for only a third of the warming that's occurred. the other is that the volcano theorists have never cited sources. the other is that they think 1.5 or so degrees is all that can really be attributed to ma...

BUILDING UNDERWATER CIVILIZATIONS WOULD NEGATE THE EFFECTS OF GLOBAL WARMING ON THE HUMAN POPULATION

THEmanlyDEBATER
Korezaan

THIS IS COMMON SENSE! IF WE HAD UNDERWATER CIVILIZATIONS THAT COULD SUSTAIN THE EFFECTS OF THE PRESSURE AT THE BOTTOM OF THE SEA, WE WOULDN'T HAVE TO WORRY ABOUT GLOBAL WARMING BEING A PROBLEM TO US AS THE SEA LEVEL RISING WOULD HAVE NO CRUCIAL IMPACT ON PEOPLE WHO LIVED UNDERWATER. WE COULD HAVE OUR DOMICILES IN UNDERWATER DOMES. FURTHERMORE, SINCE 75% IF THE PLANET IS MADE UP OF WATER, THAT WOULD JUST BE MORE SPACE FOR US AND OVERPOPULATION WOULD BE SOMEWHAT NULLIFIED FOR A WHILE. THIS IS A...

Resolved: That Global Warming is a manmade problem.

Note to Voters: Take not your own beliefs when voting, vote based on merit of the arguments. Okay, to set the parameters of this debate, my opponent must prove with a preponderance of evidence that men did indeed cause global warming. I must cast a serious doubt that CO2 and other so-called greenhouse gases created by industry cause global warming. Also, this is not about the existence of climate change, the earth is warming, the question is why. Contention 1: CO2 is not correlated to temp...

Note to Voters: Take not your own beliefs when voting, vote based on merit of the arguments. Also this is copy-pasted from another debate I was in: http://www.debate.org/debates/Resolved-That-Global-Warming-is-a-manmade-problem./1/ From my opponent-to-be's comments in that debate, he looks to be good competition. I hope for a good debate, and I thank him in advance. Okay, to set the parameters of this debate, my opponent must prove with a preponderance of evidence that men did indeed cause g...

Human activities are the main cause global warming.

First off, I'd like to thank my opponent for joining this debate and wish them best of luck to them now to clarify a few definitions: (merriam-webster) human- of, relating to, or characteristic of humans activities- the quality or state of being active (in this case, pollution and burning of fossil fuels) main- primary cause- a reason for an action or condition global warming- an increase in the earth's atmospheric and oceanic temperatures widely predicted to occur due to an increase in...

Steps to stop "Global Warming" will kill far more people then it will save

sadolite
gahbage

It is more likely than not that more people will die from famine and wars caused by restrictions made by the U.N. and environmentalists under the disguise of global warming and saving the planet. Alternative fuel sources such as ethanol are a big boondoggle and a political scam. It takes more energy to produce a gallon of ethanol than it produces not to mention the fact that it pollutes the atmosphere more than gasoline. It also produces less BTU's per gallon than does Gasoline. http://pl...

Global Warming is bad because many animals die cause there habitat is getting destroyed. It is also slowly destroying our ozone with pollution. I don't understand how people can even not care about these animals because they want to have higher temperatures and more beaches....

Global Warming Exists and we as a country need to do something about it!

nebosleeper

This debate is for those out there that say things like "global warming does not exist." There are numerous evidences that support the fact that global warming is happening. According to national geographic the rate of warming is increasing. The 20th century's last two decades were the hottest in 400 years and possibly the warmest for several millennia, according to a number of climate studies. And the United Nations' Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) reports that 11 of the past 1...

Does he fit the definition of a terorist? Note: Nothing whatsoever to do with global warming.

I am here to convince you all that Al Gore is a terrorist. This is not about global warming, this is about a simple definition. Please do not vote based on opinion, vote on the debate. Now while I await an opponent to accept, I will bring up some of my main points. Here is the defintion fo terrorism the United States government uses: "To intimidate or coerce a civilian population;or To influence the policy of a government by intimidation or coercion." By this definition Al Gore is a...
