Creationism is the best theory for the origin of life

Asgoggans
Valar_Dohaeris

Creationism is the best theory for how life came to be. If you do not believe that a creator put life on our planet then you must believe that life formed under extremely unlikely circumstances. All theories other than creationism on the origin of life are so poorly supported and founded that I find it extremely difficult to believe in any one of them. I am not being arrogant about creationsim and saying that it must be the only answer, i am just saying that out of all the other theories it is b...

The Roraima Pollen Paradox

Paleophyte
GarretKadeDupre

My thanks in advance to my worthy opponent for this unusual opportunity to demonstrate that my namesake never existed.I shall oppose the following:The discovery of pollen in samples of the Proterozoic Roraima Formation [1] falsifies the theory of evolution.Burden of Proof is on Pro, who may use this first round for debate. The final round shall be used for rebuttal and concluding arguments. Could solar energy eventually replace the use of fossil fuels?

ScholarZN
reasonablereason

Although solar power has been around for over a century, it is only recently that advancements in photovoltaic technology allowed us to sufficiently and significantly reduce carbon emissions and replace existing fuels with a more greener power source. There is almost no maintenance required for the solar panels, and the only cost comes from the installation of these solar panels. On the other hand, fossil fuel facilities, are huge factories, and plants that not only pump tons of waist into the s...

People shouldn't base all or most logic and reason on Science

Esiar
steffon66

Fallible people create fallible machines and make fallible conclusions based off of the results the fallible machine/s created by fallible people gave. Not every theory that looks like a fact (Well, near-fact, you can't be 100% sure about anything Scientifically) is actually as accurate as it looks. Give your argument in round one....

Fermi paradox - Have we been observed/visited?

MrGr3y
Zarroette

"The Fermi paradox (or Fermi's paradox) is the apparent contradiction between high estimates of the probability of the existence of extraterrestrial civilization and humanity's lack of contact with, or evidence for, such civilizations." This looses me when it assumes we would have the ability to 'obtain' said evidence of said "Observers/Visitors". Thoughts?...

Should space be colonized?

debaterTater123
tbischel

Human beings, as of right now, are the pinnacle of the evolutionary development of life. Our intelligence has placed us at the top of the food chain on a global scale, has allowed us to conquer the elements, and has extended our lives and our health to unprecedented levels. Our domain on this planet, however, is a rather unfortunate shortcoming in the grand scheme of the universe. We have all of our eggs in one basket. Climate change, a chance meteor impact, or a natural disaster of appropriate...
