We should a limited number of voters or limeted time on www.debate.org

iamsano
repete21

I know most people here including myself are here to learn and dont really mind losing or winning a debate. Instead I wanna learn from others. I just think that during the voting period, we should have a limited numbers of voters or days to decide the winner and the loser. This will make the whole debating thing exciting... because right now it is not limited and you must keep checking all the time to know if there is any change. Thanks...

Air guitar is better than regular guitar.

Loofa
audraxheartsxyou

Any one can play air guitar. You don't have to spend a bunch of money on guitar lessons and a guitar. If a girl wants you to seranade her with a song you can just pull out your air guitar. Air guitars are amazingly cool and it doesn't matter which notes you play because you make the sounds yourself. Also air guitar is freakin amazing because it was used in the 1989 movie Bill and Ted's excellent adventure, which is probaly the coolest movie ever. IN this movie the air gutiars make real sounds. s...

Stopping Illegal Immigration

mostatebears17
philosopherpirate

In America right now there are aproximately 12 million illegal immigrants. Now my posistion on this topic is that there should be some sort of military force guarding our borders rather than a bunch of volunteers called the Border Patrol. If we had some National Guard troops or active Army troops on the border Illegal Immigration will almost drop to zero. Our Boder Patrol is tired, civilians, and they just can't get the job done with the limited resources they have. T.J. Bonner of the Nation...

WAR ON TERRORISM!!!!

khaylitsa
blond_guy

when you look back in history for the answers you often find the answer to questions. when i looked at this topic i did so. Bush said all that time ago that we would go to Iraq to fight back the attack on 9/11. this was called the war on terrorism. this continues today in Afghanistan and Iran. i am not against the principle "the war on terrorism, i am against the way that we are fighting it....

A debater's sense of humor can ultimately affect the number of votes that debater receives.

gahbage
littlelacroix

Definitions from dictionary.com: "sense of humor noun the trait of appreciating (and being able to express) the humorous; "she didn't appreciate my humor"; "you can't survive in the army without a sense of humor" [syn: humor] " "ul·ti·mate·ly Audio Help (ŭl'tə-mĭt-lē) Pronunciation Key adv. At last; in the end; eventually." I don't think anyone will actually accept this debate, but oh well. I am going to prove that using a sense of humor can affect the n...

Ther Border Fence between the USA and Mexico is a bad idea

crazypenguin
NonZeroBubble

Thank you for joining this debate, First I would like to state my oppening arguments. There shouldn't be a border fence in between Mexico and the USA because not only does it seem very inconsiderate by showing that we have to block out a country and isolate ourselves and Mexico but also why do we need a big fence showing that we don't want anyone in our country from Mexico. Second why do we have to create hostillity between two nations who work well together. By building this fence not...

Pleasant Grove City vs. Summum (a first amendment case)

johannesjones
jjmd280

If my opponent or any readers is not familiar with this case, they may cut and paste this link and pick their sources. I side with Pleasant Grove City, and pick the con label because the current ruling (from the 10th circuit in the US court of appeals) sides with Summum. The case concerns the right of Pleasant Grove City to display the ten commandments in a public area (Pioneer Park), while denying Sum...

Stable nations are a greater threat to the U.S that stable nations

asiandebater
mongeese

Failed nations are a greater threat to the U.S because of the lack of government control, also lack of territory control, and not being able to interact with other countries as a whole. These failed nations are posing several physical threats to the U.S because of all the nuclear power being help by them. Failed nations are also safe havens for terrorism to expand. www.gale.com/harvardinternationalreview...

Do you think that miley is a good rolemodel for our kids?

Annbella
studentathletechristian8

On YouTube and on Twitter, followers of the Disney Channel series "Hannah Montana" debated whether Miley was doing a pole dance on top of a moving ice cream pushcart or was simply hanging on to the pole for balance. Some found her sultry routine over the top for the Fox award show, which attracted 4 million viewers -- more than a quarter of whom are under age 18 themselves, according to Nielsen ratings. Internet gossip columnist Perez Hilton dubbed the performance "the return of Slutty Cyrus,...

Amanda Todd: Does she deserve recognition still?

DevonAlixander
Jathushan

Please watch this video before debating if you have not already seen it: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vOHXGNx-E7E I know that she's apparently an "Inspiration" but, does she still deserve all the recognition she's getting? It doesn't seem like she does. This all happened a while back. I don't think she deserved killing herself, but I don't think she can just get off scot-free. Because she brought it on herself. When the guy in the chat room asked her to flash, she had two choices, flash...
