Should the Death Penalty be banned

gawilson
Reactive

The death penalty should be banned as killing people for committing crimes makes us just as bad as the. As well as that banning it produces an economic benefit as it costs more money to have a death penalty trial and execution than it does to keep prisoners in prison for over 70 years....

The Death Penalty Should stay legal.

DaFarmerProject

Pro, I wish you a good debate. The Death Penalty has been around for quite some time. It has had very extreme opinions put upon it and is thought of by some to be "Cruel/Unusual punishment." I'm here to say that I agree with the skeptics of the Death Penalty, because it is indeed corrupt and unpractical in our legal system. The Death Penalty is only used in top class crimes, however, why is it that since 1973 (in the U.S.), 138 people and counting have been released from Death row due to conf...

Should the death penalty be banned?

bnumerous
DopeFreshSaaan

Anyone for the death penalty is accepted, no questions. First of all, I'm against the death penalty. What if you wrongfully execute someone? You can't bring him or her back to life. Since 1976, 520 people have been executed in Texas alone. Is that really necessary while there is other forms of punishment available? So in my opinion as an American, The United States should give the death penalty the boot, like the UK....

I had an excellent debate on this with thett3 a little while back so I thought I might try doing this again.Resolved: The United States should retain the use of the death penalty for murder.I will be negating the resolution. Thus I think the United States should not continue to use the death penalty.Burden of Proof:BoP is shared.

The Death Penalty Should Be Used In Certain Cases

mongoose
mongeese

Resolved: The death penalty should be used in certain cases There are many cases in which the death penalty is just and should be used. For example, if a man is proven that, without a doubt, he killed another man, that murderer should be killed. While it would be profitable to use the people in prison to do labor, the prisoner should at least be given the option between death and working in prison for the rest of his life. Should the Death Penalty Exist?

aaronjames.fortson
justin.graves

Should the death penalty be allowed or exist to begin with? In my opinion, I believe it should NOT exist, and should be abolished immediately. Having the worldview that I have, I think the death penalty is murder, and people who say it isn't, and that it is justice for the victims and the hurt, I think are only justifying their own evils. No matter how you look at it, when you have someone's life in your hands, and you intentionally let them die on your own accord, because you wanted them to, it...

Death Penalty should be Abolished in all States

Ngipe33
Solomon_Orlando

I believe the death penalty should be abolished. I think that killing someone is never the solution, no matter what crime they've committed. People might say that a murder should receive the death penalty because the punishment is equal to the crime, but "an eye for an eye leaves the whole world blind". There are alternative punishments that I believe still serve justice but promote a more forgiving and merciful attitude in society....

The death penalty should be abolished

Nicholas_Neal

I am pleased to be debating Clinton Wilcox. I challenge him to a debate on whether or not the death penalty should be abolished. I am going to make the case that it should based on two main reasons. 1. The Death Penalty has killed innocent people and will always carry that possibility. Since 1973 there have been 138 exonerations of people on death row. Now admittedly this is small number, however it still brings up an ethical question about the death penalty. "Is killing the guilty wor...
