Homeschooling

To begin with, homeschooling can be very useful experience of our life, but we also should understand that homeschooling represents a major lifestyle change. When parents decide to homeschool, they will take on the duties and responsibilities of both a teacher and administrator. They also will need to implement lessons, organize field trips, coordinate activities with other parents, and make sure that they are compliant with state and local homeschool requirements. In addition to this, homes...

Homeschooling

OlyaR
Vongalaxy

For many different reasons, there are parents out there who feel that public, or even private schools, aren’t the right environments for their children to thrive in education. People who feel strongly about this matter often opt to homeschool their kids. Firstly, you make the decision about what your children learn. You have total control over what subjects your children are learning. Secondly, you make the decisions about how your children learn. There is no way a school classroom can ta...

Specialist approach to education

Nadinsquaw
Adison1

I think that the goal of education is, first of all, to prepare good specialists. When educational institutions are focused on humanistic education the result can be more than lamentable. In such a case, society gets well-educated people who know a little bit of everything. Definitely, they are all-around intellectually developed people but what society needs today is more specialists who can bring a palpable progress to it. Of course, we all want to be versatile people. However, the reality sta...

Should we have P.E. lessons?

Tatiana405
ThinkBee

For last few years at my University I heard a lot of people arguing should we have P.E. lessons or not. Personally I see P.E. lessons as a great possibility to stretch, especially for those, whose studying includes a lot of sitting. It is also good for your health, if you exercise. On the contrary, my groupmates always argue that they can spend this time to do something more important, but I think, that 2,5 hours (for lesson and to get there) isn't such a big deal....

Should creative subjects be an important part of the school curriculum?R32;

anastasiakolosovskaya
nerdicorn

To begin with, I would like to note that one of the most acute problems facing modern educational systems is that creative subjects such as art, music, dance and drama, once an integral part of the curriculum, are losing their status in favor of more academic, more obviously "commercially useful" subjects. Creativity is being squeezed out by the government"s pressure to reach SATs targets and climb league tables. As a result, students" talents go unspotted. Moreover, children are left without an...
