In 3 parts, the affirmatives opening statement, followed by a small rebutal from the negative moving to the opening statement of the negative, the affirmatives rebutal and then after that a closing statement. ok here we go: Since the beginning of digital books in the 1970s many people have wondered wether it would be a good thing. NSA Domestic Surveillance

Jessie_Debate14
bsh1

Resolved: The benefits of domestic surveillance by the NSA outweigh the harms. I negate this resolution for two main contentions. First, the NSA harms through an economic cost or social costs. Second, the US government doesn't play by its own rules. To start, the NSA harms the American people both economically and socially. Economically, the cost of data collection centers, such as the one in Nevada, comes out of the average man's taxes, raising them. With the taxes rising fewer people will tr...

Is Technology harming our brains?

Shimmer
YazZul

Technology is not harming our brains because without it, we would not have progressed as far as we have done today. The inventors of technolgy allow us to make progress in our understanding so we can build further on our knowledge. Technology isn't just the mobile phones and computers used by humans today, it is also the medicine that allowed us to fight diseases, send man to the moon and publish books. Every progression humans have made is possible because of the technology that got us there....

Was iOS 7 Apple's right move?

nandinmaster
Rexrawr

This debate will consist of four rounds, with the following round being for the purpose of acceptance only. If you accept this debate, you agree that you believe iOS 7 was a wrong turn for Apple. You may talk about experiences with the new iOS 7, but that may not be the cause of this debate. You may also describe it, but again, this is not the purpose of the debate. You could list its effects on a company's ecosystem, if it relates to the topic. Your purpose is to produce your arguments an...

Free internet needs to be added. I mean, who could live without the wiki or google?People make us pay for something, that isn't being worked on? Google and the websites on the internet are being worked on. Not the internet itself. Oh yeah we added 1 little button that no one uses. And we pay so much for that stupid little button? No way! Chrome is better than Firefox

The_Witticist
devin.cooper64

Firefox is much better than Chrome: 1) Firefox can deal with multiple tabs much better, where as Chrome might have trouble running at an adequate speed with multiple tabs open. 2) Firefox has a cooler logo than Chrome. 3) What if your homepage(i.e. MSN, Bing, Yahoo, etc.) isn't Google. Then why would you want Chrome as your browser? 4) Firefox has been around longer and is more trusted then Chrome, which came out more recently. As a conclusion to this round, I actually have an experien...

Social networking sites should have age restrictions

20131159
Condor117

Nowadays, there are a lot of social networking sites. People post information about themselves, communicate with other users, share their photos. Today, almost every child has account in one of the social networking sites. I believe that children should be able to enter those sites only at the age of 13 years old. Although, there are no age restrictions, in my opinion, social networks should be age-limited because of following reasons: 1. Nobody checks the information that people post in soci...

should laptops be allowed at schools

fadi
Sophie2Brown

I not only as a con but as a person who tried bringing his laptop for school. I saw who that everyone that had a laptop with them are enjoying their time while others are not and that is unfair. Students say that they bring their laptops for project while in truth there is no project they only want to play with it. It is also not good for saving information let"s say you have written everything from the teacher has said and you have solved your homework on it and suddenly you"re laptop shut down...
