Can a person remain moral when emotional influence is entirely replaced by logical analysis alone?

Stefy
EliasL

If we make the assumption, and I acknowledge it is an assumption, as this is a somewhat hypothetical scenario, that an entirely logical being would want society to run as efficiently and as widely beneficial as possible, then this statement is true. However, the situation must be examined from two angles; One, the logical person living in the world we live in now, exactly as it is, and two, the logical person living in a world full of nothing but other fully logical people. In the first scenari...

why zoos do more harm than good

savannah1006
Rubikx

zoos do more harm than good because for one they teach kids that it is okay to trap and mistreat animals. Zoos are also provingly made for the visitors and not the animals. say they didn't have enough space for a third bathroom, they would take away part of the enclosures from the animals around them to make space for the bathroom....

mightbenihilism

Ok, so here's the scoop: Sooner or later, Hollywood is going to make a Muhammad movie. It's going to happen. The question is who are they going to get to play Muhammad? I've thought long and hard over this issue, and here is my conclusion: Kevin Bacon. He, indisputably, would make the perfect Muhammad. Like, in every way, he's perfect for the job. I think this is obvious to most people, but I'm open to hear some criticisms of it. No other actor holds even a candle to him. Not...

Should America combat The Islamic State

GaydenSackin
jamesclark

America should not waste their time with another unnecessary war. We would be wasting our time, money, and troops. ISIS is not a huge threat to the American people, maybe to Middle Easterner countries, and too an extent European countries, but not the USFG. We recently got out of a seemingly endless and meaningless war, the last thing we need is to get involved in another war in the Middle East without an exit strategy. NATO should continue with air strikes on ISIS, and the US should continue to...

Economic Freedom ought to be valued over economic equality

SpiffyTexan
geothermal

As the nobel prize winner in economic science FA Hayek stated, "Even the striving for equality by means of a directed economy can result only in an officially enforced inequality - an authoritarian determination of the status of each individual in the new hierarchical order." It is because I agree with Nobel prize winner in economic science F.A. Hayek that I must affirm the resolution resolved: that In the realm of economics, freedom ought to be valued over equity. Before we jump right in I wou...
