Anthropocentrism ought to be valued above biocentrism

burnbird14
debateboy

[As a quick side note before I post this, I would ask my opponent, whoever that may be, to follow the traditional format of LD debate, both in case structure and argumentation.] Know that although in the eternal scheme of things you are small, you are also unique and irreplaceable, as are all your fellow humans everywhere in the world. It is because I agree with Margaret Laurence, female Canadian author that I must affirm: Resolved: Anthropocentrism ought to be valued above biocentrism....

Gun Laws / Control in the United States

Samyul
TheHunter

Welcome. I do not think there should be restrictions on Guns. Now, let me make a clear point here. I'm talking about guns, not deadly weapons ex. Nuclear Bombs or Missiles. I believe that the gun control in the US is unnecessary and nonproductive. I am glad to find someone to debate me over this topic in which I feel very strongly about, and welcome you and you're beliefs honorably. So, here we go. Gun control and laws are wrong....

The 19-million-acre Arctic National Wildlife Refuge (ANWR) lies in the northeast
corner of Alaska. The Coastal Plain area, comprising 1.5 million acres on the

To be against the right to possess a fire arm is to be, unwittingly, against self defense.

magpie
brian_eggleston

I believe that self defense is the most fundamental and essential right. If an individual is restrained from defending himself, his family, his community, or his country, he is left with absolutely no rights whatsoever. Without life, there are no rights! If a compendium of rights are agreed to and protected by law, but the right to self defense is absent, then the list of rights however long and valuable in themselves are voided by the first creep that chooses to relieve you of those rights....

Gay Marriage should be legalized.

untitled_entity
Hunton711

Hunton711 asked me to challenge him to this debate, so I am. I look forward to debating Hunton and welcome him to this site. I would ask my opponent to use this round to clarify definitions and Burden of Proof arguments if they arise - as a result I ask him not to post an argument for the second half of this round and allow actual debating to commence in round two. I, in this debate must prove that gay marriage should always be legalized whereas my opponent must prove that it must never be l...

Militarily, the United States is currently stronger than China

1Historygenius
Cruxispal

I am arguing that currently in terms of each country's military, the United States had a stronger military than the People's Republic of China. What is argued is: The size and quality of their military (current forces + reserves). Number and quality of their air force. Land-based weapons Naval forces Military budget No semantics!...

9/11 was an inside job.

Revid
scorpionclone

9/11 was NOT an inside job. There isn't one shred of evidence that says it is. I would like scorpionclone to pick one, two, or three topics or facts that point to 9/11 being an inside job. I will then attempt to point out why they are incorrect, skewed logic, or fallacious arguments. If you accept this debate, I thank you....
