Gay Marriage Should Be Allowed

SpeakYourMind
crazyninja77

I belive gay marriage should be alllowed for simple reasons. I myself am a heterosexual man, but I believe that every person has the right to live their lives as they see fit. Not allowing gay marriage is effectively infringing upon other people's lives, and not allowing them to be with the sex that brings them fullfillment. I understand that the Bible condemns homosexuality. Understand though, that the Bible was written when the Romans and Greeks, famous for their horrible sexual practices w...

Solarman1969 should be removed from Debate.org

Darth_Grievous_42
Solarman1969

Well Solarman, you challenged me to debate you, and here I am. Defend yourself, oh mighty knowledgeable, unquestionable elder. Solarman1969 should be removed from this site. I will first clarify that I am not saying this our of contradiction to his opinions, as I do respect them. we have a 52.63% disagreement ratio, which means we agree on something. No, rather my "beef" is the presentation of his topics. His purposes for being on this site do not seem to be to inspire change, add to the publ...

debatecrazzy
Alex

What does it affect other people if gays get married. They have done nothing wrong. Come on they are born with it. I really want to debate somebody who does not believe that gays should have rights for themselves...

This House Concludes that Abortion is Murder

Chuz-Life
YYW

** For the purpose of screening candidates, this debate should be near impossible for you to accept. However, if you are interested in accepting, please make yourself known in the comments section. **It's no secret that the subject of abortion is my primary interest on this website. I am aware of the fact that the subject of abortion has already been debated endlessly and I have read several of the other debates on this subject - already. That said, when it comes to...

Democracy without constraint eventually leads to more socialism. We are well on our way.

HandsOff
Patrick_Henry

Since a literal interpretation of the constitution has gone out the window, there is no concrete protection against the have-nots (or work-nots as I call them) voting in large numbers to confiscate property from its rightful owners and redistibute it in the name of public welfare. As the spoils(welfare, free healthcare, government housing, etc.) from voting democrat (or even republican these days) become more apparent, more and more will be tempted to try and vote their way to prosperity rather...

Left-side traffic is not better than right-side traffic

Lightkeeper
Ragnar_Rahl

This debate is about road traffic systems. I am against the resolution that left side traffic is not better than right side traffic. In other words, I will attempt to prove that left side traffic is in fact better than right side traffic. Left side traffic is the system where we drive on the left side of the road (eg Great Britain, Australia, New Zealand). Right side traffic is the system where we drive on the right side of the road (eg France, Germany, USA). "Better" ----- we all shou...

In the U.S., people have a constitutional obligation to change the laws they refuse to follow

Juan_Pablo
Raisor

This is the exact resolution: In the United States, people have a constitutional obligation to follow the law, and to change the laws they refuse to follow. The Constitution empowers the federal, state and local governments to make laws; this same constitution also dictates the rights we have as citizens. Therefore, as members of our nation, and to remain consistent and in agreement with the supreme law of the land, people have a moral and legal...

You can't be a meat eating environmentalist.

Theomega
candice

If one believes that they are an environmentalist, then you really cant eat meat. According to the U.N., the livestock sector causes more pollution than the entire transportation sector and all other industrial sources combined. Animals raised for food, produce 5 times more excrement than the entire human population, 86,000 pounds per second. Their excrement produce sixty five percent of world wide nitrous oxide emissions. Nitrous oxide is about 300 times more potent as a global warming gas...
