Should the Minimum Wage be abolished in the United States?

KingHades1722
Andrew-Cheng

Prerequisites: Be somewhat polite. This does not mean that you have to tip-toe around disproving my points, if you find yourself in a position to disprove them; merely, do not resort to insults and general degradation. As to my position, I am a firm believer that an abolishment of a minimum wage would be beneficial for the economy of the United States....

Equality vs. Freedom

JuniusNing
TheMarketLibertarian

The point that supporters of personal freedom routinely miss is that when the tax laws governing an economy favor wealthy business owners then fewer consumers are able to afford the products they sell. However, if these same proprietors pay their employees a decent living wage and are taxed an equal percentage from their earnings as the middle and lower classes are required to do then consumerism rises, more products are sold and the rich become a LOT richer. Everyone benefits....

I think money is required for a stable economy. Without some sort of currency everything would just go to hell. A friend brought this up to me and I have to disagree....

cell phones in school

desttoyer
dsjpk5

Distraction: Since today"s cell phones have more than one application, students will always get distracted in the quest of trying to discover and try out new cell phone applications. Female students are more likely to get distracted by mobile applications like Pinterest.com, Facebook or twitter, then for the male students, they can get distracted by cell phone game applications or video streaming applications. This continuous distraction will affect a student"s concentration in the classroom, an...

Is Shutting Down Club Penguin to Start Anew a Good Idea?

Sinque
EverythingIsMacabre

When I was younger, I played a lot Club Penguin. Recently, I heard they are shutting down the game after 11 years to start 'Clup Penguin World', a 3D version of the game. I was of course a bit sad, but mostly curious how the game would do, business wise.My argument is that Club Penguin World will be a failure, and Disney should have kept Club Penguin and done something to it, e.g. an update.-Round 1 is accepting the challenge. After that, anything goes.-B...

Price Gouging Following Natural Disaster ought to be permitted by law

tylergraham95
Blade-of-Truth

I would like to argue that price gouging following natural disasters can be a good thing, and that it ought to be permitted by law.Definitions"Price Gouging Following Natural Distaster" (PGFND): the practice of marking up the price of a good rapidly (over 50% increase in price roughly) in response to sudden increase of scarcity as a result of a natural disaster (flood, tornado, typhoon, godzilla attack, etc.)"Oug...

Is capitalism the best economic system?

Trump27
Capitalistslave

Capitalism is what makes America the greatest country in the world. It is one of the reasons we are made almost entirely of immigrants, because people, whether fleeing communism, socialism, or other weak economies, want to come to the U.S. because they know we have jobs. We have a solid, open, and opportunistic economy. The American Dream! Capitalism drives us to make money, to make corporations that provide jobs, and to create the goods and services which gives Western society its high quality...

Socialism(pro) versus capitalism(con)

Capitalistslave
JimShady

I am challenging JimShady to this debate. I would like to mention that I am going to be arguing for a specific type of socialism known as cooperative individualism, which is a form of cooperative economics. You can read about cooperative economics/individualism here if you're unfamilar with it[1]. As you can see, it employs socialist economics, and some people consider it a form of syndicalism, which is a form of socialism. I would rather not debate on whether cooperative economics is socia...
