Tertiary Education Should Be Free

foxtrot101
Danielle

Every person has the right to basic education which includes elementary and middle school, however, the cost of room and board, transportation, accommodation, books and equipment is more than students and their parents can handle. By making tertiary education free, students would be able to further their knowledge, we would have more scientists and doctors thereby bettering our economy in the future by making an investment in the people of the future....

Should schools have band?

Debater111
dsjpk5

Success in society, of course, is predicated on success in school. Any music teacher or parent of a music student can call to mind anecdotes about effectiveness of music study in helping children become better students. Skills learned through the discipline of music, these stories commonly point out, transfer to study skills, communication skills, and cognitive skills useful in every part of the curriculum. Another common variety of story emphasizes the way that the discipline of music study " p...

Do students have a right to choose their subject teachers?

DebatingTZK
Romeo2332

Sorry if there is any inconvenience, my entry is in SIngapore context. Thank you. I do not agree with this statement. If students are allowed to choose their own subject teachers, a few of the teachers would be greatly favoured. But different students have different views and will pick different subject teachers, in the long term causing disharmony between classmates because of their assigned teacher. Good friends may get into arguments about what teacher to choose and this is not what we want...

Should wolves be feared, or are they just as scared of us as we are of them?

MWonderWolf
SJM

I am pro, so I will be arguing that wolves are not scary. I am for wolves. First round is JUST FOR ACCEPTANCE! Please do not accept if you do not take this seriously. So, if you accept, your first round argument should just be something like, "I accept". It is under the tab 'education' because this will test how much education you have had on real wolves, and not the big bad wolf, which isn't real. Thank you for debating....

Are Same-Sex schools better for education?

AveyC
Bogcha

Hello. I do not think same-sex schools are better for education because in order for the world to go-round it takes people of different ages, genders, and races and schools are a good way to start to introduce children to this. Especially when it comes to group work all different genders call for a great group. You are basically restricting girls to only have girls as friends and boys to only have boys as friends....

High schools have a tardy policy of 3 tardies to equal a detention

Tardy-Policy
PowerPikachu21

I think tardy policies should be changed to three tardies to equal one detention because I think some of the students have a hard time getting to school and usually it is not really the student's fault. In some cases the students have to depend on their parents or on trains which would at times either break down or the parent would just not take the student at all. I strongly believe that we should give students a chance if they arrive late and detentions have mostly been about tardies only. < 3...

History: Allied countries are just as much to blame for the outbreak of WWII (1939-1945) as Germany

DevlinFr3w99
brontoraptor

This debate will focus on the fact that the allied countries are just as much to blame for the outbreak of war in 1939, I will argue the fact that countries, such as Britain, France, the US etc are just as much at blame as Germany is. My opening argument is going to focus heavily on the Treaty of Versailles (signed in 1919) and the effects it had on Germany: After WWI the victorious allies gathered in Versailles, France, in June 1919 and signed the Treaty of Versailles. This document was e...
