Should we track down former Nazis?

jenkinsm
Sandra888

I understand what these people did. World war 2 had ended in 1945. That was 70 years ago. A couple hundred years ago we killed thousands of American Indians because we invaded their land and put them to work. The people that did it are still called heroes today. No one would have hunted them down if they were alive. These people were just following their gut. Some of them were good people as well. They snuck bread to dying children or were doctors in the infirmaries. They helped people. All the...

For purposes of this argument let"s define the following terms as: 1. Solitary Con@257;nement (S.C.) is a form of con@257;nement whereby prisoners are held alone in a single cell where they spend between 22.5 and 24 hours a day. They have no contact with the outside world or with their fellow prisoners and very limited contact with prison staff. 2. Prisoners are persons found guilty of a criminal offense and serving a sentence of imprisonment. 3. Retribution is the debt that is being repaid t...

Can media sensationalism be justified?

hopelesscreative
TheAnonymousTipster

I've always been against media sensationalism until I have read deeper into the subject. The media sensationalizes important stories to get them heard. Ebola for example, it is a massive issue in other countries, but would be really take notice if it didn't involve us in some way? To get the story heard more, to show how big of an issue it is it had to talk about the possibility of the disease invading the west or the story wouldn't have been as big. For these reasons I'm totally for media sensa...

Should the movie "The Interview" have been banned in the first place?

ltbloom
WillRiley

-First this is NOT a debate about N Korea or blackmail by hacking. I agree that both are bad. This is a PURE question of whether the movie should have been banned in the first place. -I say Yes because -Similar to how you can't yell fire in a building, there should be a line set here that should have banned this movie. Not saying they're the same thing, of course, but we do have laws that limit free speech when public safety is at risk. Public safety is at risk here (regardless of how muc...

Sony Take Responsibility for your Actions

james50
lstef

I don't understand why Sony Entertainment CEO Michael Lynton decided make a movie Threatening the life of North Korea Leader Kim Jong- Un thinking that it would funny. First of all its against the law to threaten the life of another human being especially Kim Jong- Un the leader of another country that the United States does not have a good relationship with. I don't condone the that course of action Kim Jong - Un has taken to retaliate but what would you do if your life was threaten....

The CIA Was Right in Torturing Terrorists

SharpAA2
imnotacop

Please note this round is for acceptance only. I wish to contend that the CIA was right in the usage of harsh interrogation methods. If you do not know of this, here is a link: http://www.bbc.com/news/world-us-canada-30401100 I would prefer facts mentioned to be attributed to their source. Good luck and have fun!...
