Soft drinks should be sold at school

RJ999999999RJ
funnycn

In my opinion, I strongly believe that soft drinks shouldn"t be sold at schools, because soft drinks damages student"s behaviour, concentration, inhibitions, learning abilities and overall general health issues due to the community comments on www.debate.org/opinions/should-soda-be-sold-at-schools. For instance, it makes students aggressive, hyper, stimulant, defiant and disruptive; as well as it could distract student from concentrate on what they are doing. Firstly, I confidently believe th...

Abortion...Is it right? wrong? or does it depend?

killerbunny
16kadams

I say abortion is right depending on the circumstances. I say abortion should be used but people shouldnt be frivolous with it. If the mother of the child is a teen or is a person who does drugs then yes it should be used. But if it is adults who just dont want kids they should do adoption and next time use both types of protection(birth control and condoms) Also why i am for abortion is because the embryo cannot feel pain therefore making it harmless. Abortion is a huge debate.I am for it!...

Tobacco should be banned

TheInterlang
Mrparkers

In this debate, I will be talking about why smoking should be banned or at least partially banned (i.e., illegal to sell). There are many risks to smoking that apply to both the smoker and the people who have to put up with secondhand smoke. No one likes the smell of cigarette/cigar smoke, and most smokers regret it later after finding out about what it does to the lungs (sometimes even seeing their own charred lungs through endoscope!) or developing cancer or emphysema. It is hard to quit. The...

abortion

first of all, being pro choice does not mean i am "pro abortion". i don't want to force women to have an abortion. the fact of the matter is, i think its wrong to FORCE any woman that you will never meet to do or not do anything. and, by saying that you are "pro life", if you are not aware, means that you believe the government should not only have a say in a women's decision of whats right to do with her body and her child, but that it should have the only say, whether they know what the woman...

Plant-Based Diets are just as good if not better than Animal-Based Diets/diets with animal products

monikker
gordonjames

Why? After much research, it becomes surprisingly simple (however, there is always so much to learn). I'm not citing sources because I don't feel like looking all of them up -- however, I do feel confident that my opinions have been fairly well-researched. I'd be happy to look up anything and find the source that someone else can't find when they look it up, though. 1) Dairy is completely unnecessary for anyone living in a developed country. Cow's milk, which is made for baby calves much the...

Is the Bible right on sex and marriage?

Jikpamu
EndarkenedRationalist

Yes - 1 Corinthians 6:18 (New International Version 2011) 1Co 6:18 Flee from sexual immorality. All other sins a person commits are outside the body, but whoever sins sexually, sins against their own body. http://www.cdc.gov/hiv/risk/gender/msm/facts/ Gay, bisexual, and other men who have sex with men (MSM) represent approximately 2% of the United States population, yet are the population most severely affected by HIV. At the end of 2010, an estimated 489,121 (56%) persons living with...

Organ donation should be 'opt out' as opposed to 'opt in'

chloe_louise
David.McIntosh

The percentage of the British population who have joined the organ donor register is 31%. A much larger percentage of the population would donate their organs if directly asked just have not made the effort to sign the register. The number of organs required per year far exceeds the number available and this would go some way to being solved by a system of 'opt out' rather than 'opt in.'...
