Everquest is the Most Revolutionary MMORPG of All Time

Freshiequest
holyyakker

I'm re-posting this debate because the first person who accepted it has basically conceded the debate. Since it's launch in April of 1999 the online computer game Everquest has captivated the minds of millions of players worldwide and revolutionized the MMORPG industry. Before Everquest there wasn't a single game out there that allowed a player to interactively explore a 3D world along with thousands of other players simultaneously. The MMORPG's that did exist only allowed a player to exp...

Does technology make our lives better.

zaqsrfcd77
djexcelsior

I am inclined to favor the idea that technology does enrich our lives. It provides us with a huge quantity of information and entertainment. For example, if you search something in the internet, you will see tons of information about it, and some of that you could not find otherwise. Even though our modern technology provides us with these sorts of amazing services, pessimists have a different perspective. Pessimists point out that technology is destroying our relationships and creating securit...

Biphasic should replace Monophasic Defibrillators

Mangani
beem0r

My position is that biphasic defibrillators are more beneficial to the patient, are more efficient, and provide more reliable technology than do monophasic defibrillators. Definitions Biphasic: having two distinct phases, as in a waveform Monophasic: consisting of one phase in a waveform Biphasic defibrillation has been proven to cardiovert a patient from ventricular fibrillation at higher rates at lower dosages than monophasic defibrillation. Biphasic defibrillation at 120J-200J is...

The PS3 is a better system than the X-Box 360.

Labrat228
pickpocket094

Hello to all potential voters and my potential opponent. I find that I have a great advantage compared to some in this debate, due to the fact that I have both a PS3 and an X-Box 360. I will use this round to give debate topics and to set up an easy to read form. In this debate I will point out the five main things, these five being: 1) Reliability 2) Graphics 3) Games 4) Misc. Features (Messenger Programs, Browser, Video, Pic, Music... etc) 5) Price I would like for my opponents rebut...

The optional age restriction.

Okay, so a few days ago, I checked the comments section, and lo and behold, I saw just the debate I was looking for. I quickly clicked on the hyperlink, only to discover that, to my dismay, I was too young to debate this topic. Now, pondered changing my profile age to 100, but I felt that would be dishonest, and against the wishes of the instigator, so I didn't. But, it taught me an important lesson: Age restrictions suck. Obviously the intent, that is, to prevent immature debaters from accep...

Every Debate.org member should invite all of their friends to join the site.

Phil

If you love this website (www.Debate.org) like I do, and you are a registered member, then you should use the 'Invite My Friends' feature to send an invitation to all of your friends to join the website. Debate.org is now a social networking website, built around and driven by debate. I would argue that based on my 33-years of experience on this planet that 1 out of 3 people love a good argument in at least one of the categories listed on the website. Arts Education Entertainment Health M...

Some UFO's ARE from another planet.

Karoz
evilkillerfiggin

To clarify the definition of UFO's before the debate: UFO's are unidentified flying objects, even if something is not an alien spacecraft it can still be a UFO. But just because some UFO's may not infact be alien spacecraft this does not mean the rest aren't which is what this debate will be about. My first point is that life on Earth is most likely not unique. With a universe as infinite as ours and with the building blocks of life littered across the galaxies you would be foolish to think...

High gas prices

blondesrule502
Wierdkp326

The minimum wage today which will soon be passed is $6.55. Gas prices are now just over $4.00. this is about 61% of a person's hourly income. In 1972, the minimum wage was $1.60, while gas was $0.92. Gas was about 58% of a person's hourly income. However, the average gas mileage back then was about 13 miles per gallon whereas today it is approximately 22 miles per gallon. (cato.org) Today, in the face of global warming, there needs to be some incentive to come up with alternatives. Jimmy Car...
