Everyone should stop using the euphemism "pro-choice" when referring to abortion.

Equivocator
zgb1997

Anyone who uses the euphemism "pro-choice" when she is actually talking about killing a living thing is a coward. Everyone is pro-choice. Whether you decide to allow your unborn child to live, or you decide to kill it, you are making a choice. At least have the courage of your convictions; if you believe that the correct choice is to abort your pregnancy then stop hiding your actions behind a catch phrase. If you believe that having an abortion is the best remedy to stop your pregnancy, have the...

Impossible for an all-powerful all-knowing all-good God to allow free will.

LatentDebater
LaL36

Con has BOP to prove a possible way God can make free will possible.

Free Will = the conscious ability to act independently of God's control in a manner that could be evil.

All-power = can do absolutely anything.

All-knowing= knows absolutely everything that goes on.

All-good = Will always use powers and knowledge in order to make good things happen and evil things stop.

The consumption of meat is ethically wrong

xxXChelseaXxx
Valladarex

Greetings Valladarex,

Here is the debate!

Ethics: normatively to refer to a code of conduct that, given specified conditions, would be put forward by all rational persons.

Outlines:

- First round acceptance, just so I can outline everything (you can briefly outline your arguments if you want to).

- 4 rounds because of the outlining in the first.

- No new arguments in the last round.

- The...

True love conquers all.

This is an expression which most of you are undoubtedly familiar with. But to what extent does such an expression hold merit?

For some, love is fleeting. For others, love is f...

It is more likely than not that an afterlife does not exist

socialpinko
thett3

===Resolution===

The Pro will have the primary burden of proof in formulating and defending an argument against the existence of an afterlife. Con's burden will be to deconstruct and refute Pro's case.

===Definitions===

An afterlife is defined as "the concept of a realm, or the realm itself (whether physical or transcendental), in which an essential part of an individual's identity or consciousness continues to reside after the death o...

"Rape Penalty"

thett3
bluesteel

Full Resolution: If proven to be 100% effective in preventing recidivism, eye for an eye implementation of a "rape penalty" I.E. raping rapists, would be a just punishment.

One of the most common anti-death penalty arguments I have heard is that "we don't rape rapists, so why is it ok to kill a killer?" The reason being, of course, that a "rape penalty" would not be as effective at deterring recidivism as the death penalty is. Howe...

Abortion is generally immoral

KeytarHero
WriterDave

I would like to challenge WriterDave to a debate on abortion. As I am always looking to refine my arguments in the matter, I am curious how he would respond to my arguments.

I believe that abortions are justified if the mother's life is in immediate danger and both mother and child cannot be saved (this is more a case of triage than abortion). I will argue that all other abortions are unjustified and immoral.

Round 1 will be fo...
