Gay Marriage

kittymosh36

I am a straight Catholic and I believe that homosexuals should be treated as our equals. Why do you believe that homosexuals should not have the same rights as you? If they wish to be Catholic and get married under that, then why push them away from God when he wants us to bring people together under his Church? These are modern times; things have changed. The bible states that it is okay to beat your slave. If you ask me, slavery and beating is certainly not okay. It also says that women should...

Gay marriage

bringg_me_the_horizon

I'm pro marriage and pro gay marriage, because another person's choice isn't my business. Love is love. It's not a choice. You were either born that way, or it came naturally due to how you were raised. The Constitution states that all people should be treated equally and that we all have out rights and freedom. It doesn't state that gay marriage is a bad thing, and that it should never happen. People don't understand that this world is so full of hate, and a person doesn't just choose whether t...

Should gay marriage be legalized?

justaloser

As a lesbian atheist, I strongly believe that gay marriage should be legalized, but I'm up for a friendly debate. Keep in mind, though, if you say "f*g" one time, I'm not going to listen to a single thing you say....

There is no rational basis for banning gay marriage.

Nymphomaniac
bluesteel

This is a short debate about gay marriage in the United States. I believe bans on gay marriage cannot be defended, even under rational basis review. When courts apply rational basis review, the question asked is whether the law at issue is rationally related to a legitimate government interest. This is the lowest level of judicial scrutiny. Thus, the issue up for debate is whether bans on gay marriage are rationally related to a legitimate government interest. This should give those against gay...

Gay marriage should be legalized.

AshleyWalker75

Everyone, men and women, without any limitation due race, nationality or religion should have the right to marry and to found a family. I believe that gay marriage should be acceptable in all places around the world because it shouldn't matter how old or what gender you are, love is love and no one should tell you otherwise. Therefore, gay marriage should be legalized....

Gay Marriage: Yay or Nay?

Nonsensicality
somenerd224

Gay marriage is good. Some people would say that in the Bible, it rules against gay marriage, saying that 'any man who lies with another man is sinful', but it also says in the Bible as well that Jesus (you know, the guy who the Bible was practically based on) said to love unconditionally. And if you also view this topic from the religious perspective, if God created mankind, and created everything about them, and knows the past present and future, then He created homosexual people. And why wou...

Gay marriage should be legal

Chrislove
chezbona

I believe gay marriage should be legal because everyone is human regardless of sexuality. The only argument people use is religion but Jesus taught love and acceptance not hate and discrimination. So if this is true that people hate gays because of religion, you are going against the words of Jesus Christ. If being gay was a choice why would someone choose to be hated and discriminated against. No one wants to be put down. Love is a beautiful and a powerful thing. Shouldn't we embrace it, not ma...

Should the Bible be used in arguments involving political issues such as gay marriage?

ciel
gryephon

I believe that the Bible should not be used in arguments involving political issues such as gay marriage or the transgender rights movement. The book is a religious icon; politics should be kept separate from religious arguments, as stated by Thomas Jefferson himself when he proposed the "separation of church and state".
