Same-Sex marriage.

sahaam
Duncan

Hi my name is Sahaam. On the 19th of August same-sex marriage will be legalised officially in New Zealand. I don't agree on this. Being a Seventh Day Adventist Christian, I know that same-sex marriage is NOT right. My 1st point is that if we legalise same-sex marriage then we might as well legalise other laws. For example if I wanted to marry an animal, would you think im crazy? Its equal rights. If you can marry your own sex then why not marry a cat or a dog or a monkey, and so on. Marrying a...

There is no God

ConservativeLiberal
vi_spex

Oh goody, another religion debate! Pro (me) will argue that there is no God, and no possibility of one. Con (my opponent) will argue that there is a God. Each side must provide substantial evidence to support their arguments. The burden of proof is shared. Good luck!...

Muhammad was a prophet of God

Multi-Wargasm
Roasted_Marshmellow

The motion being put forward is that Muhammad, blessed be his name, was and is a prophet of the one true God. Pro will have to prove unanimously that Muhammad was and is a prophet of God, whereas con will have to stipulate how this is not so....

Is God real?

Mr_Jack_Nixon
ds3020

While I know this is a VERY generic debate topic, I have been trying to amass as much evidence for god as I can. As an atheist, my preacher wishes to have a 'talk' with me about my belief. I plan on proving to him irrefutable evidence against God. To do so, I need to know every argument that could be made for him and that is why I am holding this common debate. As a note, I would like these arguments to revolve around the Christian god, or god in general. Also Round 1 and the beginning or Round...

Man Can't Know Theistic Truths

AnthraSight
Dubloon

My first debate will be a quick one since it's more of a question. My only argument is this, 1) If God is all knowing, then only he can know of himself 2) Mankind are not all knowing 3) Therefore, Man can't know theistic truths Support for 1: In order to know anything about a being which knows all, we must be within that very same epistemic position, but if no other being shares such a position with God, then ultimately God is unknowable. Support for 2: Humans stand in very l...

If a God is Omniscient, Omnipotent, and Omnibenevolent, then Free Will Does Not Exist

BrandonMS
Aerogant

This is a rather simple concept: If there is an omniscient, omnipotent, and omnibenevolent deity, can absolute free will exist? I say no, and am therefore Pro. I have seen this definition of a god be used to define specifically the Abrahamic god several times and will thus be focusing largely on that in my opening statement, but it may describe any god the opponent wishes. Biblical, religious, and philosophical verses and references are allowed to be used as points. Because of the subject of...
