The UK should dispose of all its nuclear bombs.

biggest_pro_going
RonnyJ

This will be a short debate because i have debated in the past and some of the responses i received were not pleasant. I will be arguing that the UK should dispose of ALL its nuclear bombs by 2016. here are my reasons 1- Nukes cost lots of money to maintain and the old Brits don't have to much of that. Selling them would be great for the economy 2- Its NOT the cold war anymore. The soviet union is no longer here, and the only possible nuclear threats (even this is debatable) today are...

Should we replace capitalism?

AlexAnCom
Dantheawesome

Should we replace capitalism? Yes. Here I define capitalism as a system of economic organization with two central principles: 1) Private ownership of property and the means of production (fields, factories, etc).2) The accumulation of skill sets and financial capital (or money) where one dollar equals one vote in the marketplace and one unit of access to resources.Given this definition and considering the current state o...

Should minimum wage be raised to $15

Minhee108
HaileyL

No, it shouldn't be. I believe that someone working at McDonald's for example, a job that only requires very basic skill, should not deserve $15. If minimum wage does increase, any employee who works there 8 hours a day, 7 days a week, and most of the year, will be making roughly $35k (including income tax). Other jobs that pay this much include marriage therapists, substance abuse and behavioral abuse counselor, and medical secretaries. All of these which require training and skill, so why shou...

Israel is not as evil as people make it out to be.

biggest_pro_going
alric8

Before we start i would like to make it very clear that Israel is not completely in the right because it does sometimes overreact. I am arguing that Israel has not committed a "genocide" on the Palestinian people or that Israel has stole Palestinian land and if you weigh out the crimes on both sides Palestine has done more wrong than Israel. This debate take history into account as well so we are not just looking at the current situation we are also looking at the background of it to see who is...

Surf-n-Turf Law (House Bill 813) is illogical and unreasonable.

BBoehmig
MissLuLu

Missouri State Representative Rick Brattin has introduced House Bill 813, also known as the "Surf-and-Turf" Law. This law prevents food-stamp recipients from using their benefits to purchase cookies, chips, energy drinks, soft drinks, seafood, or steak. Brattin claims that the purpose of the new law is to "...get the food stamp program back to its original intent, which is nutrition assistance," I am against this for many reasons, Challenger needs to support the law and prove why it would be...
