Gay marriage should be made legal. To deny homosexuals their right to equality creates hatred.

ctlaster
patriots16-0

"Hatred paralyzes life; love releases it. Hatred confuses life; love harmonizes it. Hatred darkens life; love illuminates it." Coretta Scott King uttered these powerful words preaching peace, love, and equality. To deny homosexuals the right to marry or legally adopt children to raise a family is a repeat of history. This will become the next Civil Rights movement if this country continues to promote hatred. To preach "family values" and promote hatred and discrimination is an oxymoron....

Gay Marriage Should Be Allowed

SpeakYourMind
crazyninja77

I belive gay marriage should be alllowed for simple reasons. I myself am a heterosexual man, but I believe that every person has the right to live their lives as they see fit. Not allowing gay marriage is effectively infringing upon other people's lives, and not allowing them to be with the sex that brings them fullfillment. I understand that the Bible condemns homosexuality. Understand though, that the Bible was written when the Romans and Greeks, famous for their horrible sexual practices w...

Gay marriage ought to be legalized in the United States.

Danielle

INTRODUCTION: I'd like to thank my opponent in advance for accepting this debate. Before we begin, I'd like to make a few clarifications regarding the resolution. First, I'd ask that my opponent avoid any semantics arguments (i.e. Gay Marriage is already legal in SOME states, etc.) as the resolution implies legalization of gay marriage at the federal level. Second, the resolution also implies that gay marriage should be recognized in the U.S. so long as heterosexual marriage is legally recogn...

Gay marriage or civil unions? There is no difference

Paradigm_Lost

I personally believe that marriage is a basic right. However, like most things, there are parameters which define those very rights. Since some people are apt to neglect context, it is important to distinguish parameters. For instance, an 8 year old cannot legally marry because the law has determined that people in that age bracket do not generally have the wherewithal to make a decision of that magnitude. So, then, marriage being a basic right does not license us to marry whomever or whatever o...

Resolved: Gay marriage would weaken the insitutuion of marriage

The BOP is on you to prove n and me to prove yes. This is hypothetical so We need to share it. Also weakening is defined as making it invalid, a joke etc. No semantics with the title. C1: Gays cheat on each other more. Studies indicate that homosexual couples have higher rates of promiscuity than heterosexual couples.Allowing gays to marry would make gays seek more partners. [1] Second, and even more importantly, homosexual unions are not wrong primarily because of their disproportion...

Some states do not allow gay marriage. I believe that just because it's a man and a man, or a woman and a woman doesn't mean that they cannot marry. I believe in equal rights for all citizens, of all races all around the globe. link-https://secure3.convio.net/hrc/site/Advocacy?cmd=display&page=UserAction&id=245 (If it doesn't click, copy and paste.)...

Gay Marriage Should Be Legalized.

TheSkeptic
pawletoe

Ask almost anyone on the street and they will probably agree with you that homosexual's should have the same rights as heterosexuals. Yet, once you get on the issue of marriage, more than half of the population in America is against it. This right to marriage is the last blockade for equal rights for homosexuals. I'll let my opponent go first....

Gay Marriage

I think that if straight people can get married, then gay people should be able to get married as well. America is about equal rights. If gays want to be as miserable as MOST straight married people are, I say we let them! Gay people are born gay. It isn't a choice. They can't help that they are attracted to the same sex....
