Heavy Metal is just for boys

bexy_kelly
littlelacroix

Some people have a preconcieved idea that heavy metal is simply for guys. This cannot be true as music is genderless, and if a band were to aim itself at a paticular gender then it would potentially miss out on 50% of all listeners...

High schools waste time with foreign language, fine arts and gym requirements.

Hamlicar_B_Rules
Hypnodoc

I'm in high school and can personally defend my argument. 1. High schools waste not only time, but resources and money with these requirements. 2. Most students would not take these classes if they were not required. 3. The students who are force to take these classes through requirements, for the most part, do not use the class for any post school progressions in life. e.g. it's truly not useful in their life 4. These classes not being required would allow students to have a more focus...

Ad hominem is a logical fallacy

iamalwaysright
Rezzealaux

The ancient Greeks were well known for practicing the act of pederasty. They also believed in false gods and mythological tales that are quite obviously not possible in real life and defied logic. How is it then that such an insane and debased group of people have any say in what is "logical" or not? Why should we listen to anything that comes from a barbarous time in history where people assumed that it was okay for adults to make love to children? To even think they knew anything about what sh...

I believe that if a tree falls in the woods it does not make a sound because sound is vibrations and if there is a collision between to solid objects there will always be vibration and therefor there will be sound....

Led Zeppelin.....The Greatest Band Ever

theitalianstallion
manutdredseal46

Led Zeppelin is hands down the best band to ever grace us with their presence on this earth. Jimmy Page is arguably the best guitarist ever. The late Bonzo was and still is the greatest drummer of all time. Plant was the first true metal vocalist with his distictive high pitch. And last but not least, JPJ, the most underrated musician of the modern era; great composer and played many different instruments. But a band cannot have success with just very talented members, it needs chemistry, consis...

The Best Band Ever:Pink Floyd?

FeatherintheWind
DrumBum1234

Pink Floyd, in my opinion, was not only the most underrated band full of the most underrated musicians, but it was also the most talented and most creative bands of all time, paving the road for all progressive rock bands that followed them. I would like someone to challenge my opinions with whomever they think is the best band, or why Pink Floyd wasnt as great as I say they are. I suppose I will give my introduction to my opinion of Pink Floyd. I have been reading another debate about the bes...

Muse: The Best Band Ever!

VoodooChild
Labrat228

About a year or two ago I was first introduced to Muse and I immediatley began to like them. It was like something that i had never heard before. I loved Muse so much that everytime I wanted to listen to something it just wasn't the same. Everytime I listened to something other than Muse it was uncomparable to Muse and I had to listen to Muse Right away. Muse is made up of Matthew Bellamy (guitarist/vocals), Dominic Howard (Drummer), and Chris Wolstenholme (Bassist/backup vocals). First I want...

Colors of Stairway

FeatherintheWind
theitalianstallion

This will be short and sweet 2 round 12 hour voting time debate that I will win. Stairway is best represented by the color green. Green symbolizes hope, and Stairway to Heaven is a song of hope(as introduced by Robert Plant, The Song Remains the Same.)And also, people with certain disabilities such as an alteration in their sense recipticals, or some form of retardations can see colors when they hear a song. I do have these alterations and a few retardations, and as as the flute comes in, the so...
