Should Medical Marijuana Be Legal

whitneyheritage
Zarium

I believe that medical marijuana should be legal. Marijuana is customarily known as a street drug, but in recent years it has gained its credibility as a medication to treat chronic pain and sooth side effects of chemotherapy for cancer. Already 72% of doctors support medical marijuana. Cancer patients had positive feedback when they tried medical marijuana. They said things like "It made me feel like I had an appetite for the first time in probably six months". For the people who benefit from m...

Marijuana should only be legalized only for medicinal cases and you should not have unless you have a prescription for it because kids and teenagers can easily get there hands on it, they can take it from there parents or another friend or brother who's old enough to have this drug. so that is why I think it should only be legalized for medicinal porpoises only....

Medical Marijuana is the future of medicine. Marijuana is classified as a Schedule I substance meaning it has the greatest potential for abuse with no medical value, according to the FDA. While the FDA doesn"t consider marijuana a medicine, 76 percent of doctors approve of medical marijuana use to help diagnose over 25 different conditions. Is it constitutional for the federal government to regulate marijuana, even over state objection?

MaddenHarris

There is not a constitutional right to legalize recreational marijuana. There have been clashing reports as to what marijuana does to the human body. Although, states where marijuana is legal have seen an increase in car accidents. The number of accident insurance claims that have been filed in Washington, Oregon, and Colorado are 3% higher than what was expected had they not legalized recreational use of marijuana. There is an increased crash risk in states where marijuana is legal. Colorado's...

The Current Drinking Age

audreykaufman22
Roach-Boarder

Many young Americans believe that lowering the drinking age would be beneficial to the safety of teenagers. However, the reality of a lower drinking age has many disadvantages that outweigh the benefits. The national drinking age has saved many lives since it has been set in 1984. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration estimated that current drinking age of 21 decreased the number of fatal traffic accidents for 18 to 20-year-olds by 13% and saved approximately 27,052 lives from 1984-...

Emily.Graves15

As Americans, we are constantly evolving and changing perspectives as a society. Medical marijuana is a good example. Lawmakers are redrawing regulations regarding this hot-topic. There are many advantages to legalizing the use of marijuana for medical purposes, and for medical purposes only. Restricting the availability and ease of access is also important. States where medical marijuana is legal see less dependence on opioids, which is a growing problem. Making sure that people who have actual...

Should the legal drinking age be lowered?

minnetonka25

Drinking under the age of 21 can be very dangerous: it leads to damaging parts of your brain, higher alcohol consumptions, and more driving accidents. Sandra Aamodt from NPR says, "changes that happen between 18 and 25 are a continuation of the process that starts around puberty, and 18-year-olds are about halfway through that process. Their prefrontal cortex is not yet fully developed. That's the part of the brain that helps you to inhibit impulses and to plan and organize your behavior to reac...
