Osama Bin Laden is not dead

Next round we will get serious.
open voting on debate.org should be abolished or curtailed

I've been skimming the arguments here and I notice a common trend. People who have interesting, but controversial opinions tend to start their arguments with "PLEASE ACTUALLY READ THIS INSTEAD OF JUST VOTING AGAINST MY POSITION". It is really sad that these kind of statements are necessary. Thus, I suggest that debate.org appoint moderators who can patrol debates and vote on the winner. These people would be the cream of the debate.org crop or simply people well versed in argumentation and th...
The United States should not provide aid to Japan

The United States should not provide aid to Japan for the following 3 reasons. 1) Japan has the economy and financial means to help itself. 2) America does not have the financial means to help Japan. 3) The recent disasters are not that bad. I await my opponents arguments and rebuttals...
Should Keith Olbermann receive a lifetime ban from telelvision broadcasting?

I have never heard this guy make one intelligent statement. Right now, I am reading a book, and there's a part that talks about an interview Olbermann had with Playboy in I believe 2007. His exact statement was "Fox News is worse than al Qaeda." He also even said that Fox News is worse than the KKK. I don't think he realizes how many people he offended. I know I would be offended if I had a family member die in 9/11, or if I had a family member killed by the KKK. Last time I checked, Fox News do...
A debater's sense of humor can ultimately affect the number of votes that debater receives.

Definitions from dictionary.com: "sense of humor noun the trait of appreciating (and being able to express) the humorous; "she didn't appreciate my humor"; "you can't survive in the army without a sense of humor" [syn: humor] " "ul·ti·mate·ly Audio Help (ŭl'tə-mĭt-lē) Pronunciation Key adv. At last; in the end; eventually." I don't think anyone will actually accept this debate, but oh well. I am going to prove that using a sense of humor can affect the n...
Stable nations are a greater threat to the U.S that stable nations

Failed nations are a greater threat to the U.S because of the lack of government control, also lack of territory control, and not being able to interact with other countries as a whole. These failed nations are posing several physical threats to the U.S because of all the nuclear power being help by them. Failed nations are also safe havens for terrorism to expand. www.gale.com/harvardinternationalreview...
WAR ON TERRORISM!!!!

when you look back in history for the answers you often find the answer to questions. when i looked at this topic i did so. Bush said all that time ago that we would go to Iraq to fight back the attack on 9/11. this was called the war on terrorism. this continues today in Afghanistan and Iran. i am not against the principle "the war on terrorism, i am against the way that we are fighting it....
Air guitar is better than regular guitar.

Any one can play air guitar. You don't have to spend a bunch of money on guitar lessons and a guitar. If a girl wants you to seranade her with a song you can just pull out your air guitar. Air guitars are amazingly cool and it doesn't matter which notes you play because you make the sounds yourself. Also air guitar is freakin amazing because it was used in the 1989 movie Bill and Ted's excellent adventure, which is probaly the coolest movie ever. IN this movie the air gutiars make real sounds. s...
Stopping Illegal Immigration
In America right now there are aproximately 12 million illegal immigrants. Now my posistion on this topic is that there should be some sort of military force guarding our borders rather than a bunch of volunteers called the Border Patrol. If we had some National Guard troops or active Army troops on the border Illegal Immigration will almost drop to zero. Our Boder Patrol is tired, civilians, and they just can't get the job done with the limited resources they have. T.J. Bonner of the Nation...
We should a limited number of voters or limeted time on www.debate.org

I know most people here including myself are here to learn and dont really mind losing or winning a debate. Instead I wanna learn from others. I just think that during the voting period, we should have a limited numbers of voters or days to decide the winner and the loser. This will make the whole debating thing exciting... because right now it is not limited and you must keep checking all the time to know if there is any change. Thanks...
