The claim that "97% of scientists agree 'man made global warming' exists" is a lie.

LandonWalsh
Zexcoiler_Kingbolt

John Kerry has been quoted as saying, "And let there be no doubt in anybody"s mind that the science is absolutely certain. . . 97 percent of climate scientists have confirmed that climate change is happening and that human activity is responsible. . . . . they agree that, if we continue to go down the same path that we are going down today, the world as we know it will change"and it will change dramatically for the worse." This is very false. But leaving aside the catastrophic/"change dram...

PrefaceThis is the Final debate of the Official May Regular Tournament [http://www.debate.org/forums/debate.org/topic/67223/] on solely highly controversial topics, hosted by Unitomic. On account of RoyalFlush100 and KingKD being inactive, Lannan and I are the only ones to pass Round 1 and Round 2, to go onto the Final. In Round 1, I defeated Mister_Man, while Varrack dropped out, to give Lannan a bye. In Round 2, both of us gained byes due to inac...

Global Warming Exists and we as a country need to do something about it!

nebosleeper
Statesman

This debate is for those out there that say things like "global warming does not exist." There are numerous evidences that support the fact that global warming is happening. According to national geographic the rate of warming is increasing. The 20th century's last two decades were the hottest in 400 years and possibly the warmest for several millennia, according to a number of climate studies. And the United Nations' Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) reports that 11 of the past 1...

we needn't make big changes in our life style to stop global warming

merciless
LaissezFaire

I believe that the public doesn't have to make big changes in lifestyle to stop global warming. These include turning the thermostat down below 72 degrees, paying a lot more money for electric cars, and paying a lot more money for electricity. In this debate, I will be arguing that either a) humans are not responsible for global warming or b) there are other ways to prevent global warming that do not interfere with our lifestyles. I would like to inform my opponent that I do think that we should...

Global Warming is Good

xxGINGER-THE-DEBATERxx
TUF

Global warming, the act of putting unnatural heat into the atmosphere, is harmful to the world. According to McClure and Stiffler in 2007, Warming is in fact real and the leading climate scientists are agreeing that warming needs to be stopped. "The world's leading climate scientists are reporting that they are basically certain that burning gasoline, coal and other fossil fuels has unnaturally heated the atmosphere -- and the effects are likely to last for centuries." They add that, "Warming is...

Global Warming Skepticism

Republican95
Cpt.Price

=== Resolution === The people of the world should be highly skeptical on the issue of human induced climate change. === Arguments ==== 1) Changes in climate have occured before. The ice age that occured some 110,000 to 10,000 years ago [1] is evidence that drastic changes in the Earth's climate is normal. Also, the fact that when the Vikings landed in an ice-free Greenland in 986 is evidence of previous warming, as Greenland is full of ice today. [2] Therefore, there is no reason to...

This is a no brainer Al Gore and many others are pushing this latest scare tactic to force and agenda - this agenda is to curtail fossil fuel use and encourage renewables Now, I am in the solar business, so these fools who buy this garbage are good for business, no doubt However, the "science" behind the theory that CO2 is a main player in global climate is LAUGHABLE And I am going to make some unusual points that you havent heard the earth is getting a little bit warmer...
