Is there an unbiased method to correctly interpret the Bible?

Truth_seeker
ergodicsum

In this debate, i will discuss about an unbiased method in order to correctly interpret the Bible. Please feel free to give your thoughts/opinions and votes. What does it mean to interpret? It basically means to explain the meaning of literature, painting, music, and other forms, thus Biblical Hermenutics is the science of interpreting the Bible. Unlike other religions, The Bible is compiled by many different authors over centuries, sharing the same theology, but developing it overtime a...

Jesus Christ is God

radz
Valtin

The case of Pro is that according to the Bible, Jesus Christ is not only human by nature but also God by nature ( John 1:14, 1 Timothy 3:16,, Philippians 2:7). On this debate challenge, Pro must prove his case while Con must prove that Jesus is only human by nature. Scripture alone is to be used in providing arguments and Bible scholars may also be cited....

PeacefulLibertarian
BEASTxKNIGHTx12

I propose that atheism is not a religion, as the title states. It is most often accused of being a religion by religious people who have no context of what being godless is....

hayhen13
Mike_10-4

First round is acceptance only. A forfeit is an automatic loss. Evolution:the process by which different kinds of living organisms are thought to have developed and diversified from earlier forms during the history of the earth Creationism:the belief that the universe and living organisms originate from specific acts of divine creation, as in the biblical account, rather than by processes such as evolution

Religion is bad

Mankind's want for religion should have faded out of our cultures a long time ago with the rise of modern science and the scientific revolution. For most of the religions of the bronze and iron age this was the case. Unfortunately when it comes to established religions the opposite has occurred. In these religions the idea of faith, the act of canceling reason...

Children should not be allowed to be taught religion is true

JamieKerr
Heineken

I thank anybody who is willing to take part in this debate. Firstly I make it clear that children should not be taught it is untrue either. Simply say, "Some people believe this and some people don't" I believe any form of telling your children that your opinions are true in pure indoctrination. I also believe it can lead to bigotry, as I have seen through many instances of Gays being excluded and Jews being told to go to hell....

roman catholic church has never contradicted itself

dairygirl4u2c
JohnnyBadNews666

in this debate, i am not counting the issues of limbo, or "no salvation outside the catholic church". you would think if the catholic church were not true, that it would have contradicted itself at some point in two thousand years. the only things that count are statements that are authoritative, things that could be considerted "infallible". the pope, intentionally, teaches, the church, on faith and morals. that is the criteria. it includes many councils and other statements by popes....
