Should people believe in God or not?

3095
zgb1997

My position is the following that people should believe in God. It is no matter what religion you profess, because God the same for all. At the same time appears the question: "Why people should believe in God?". I have several points about it and also with help points I will present my arguments. The first point I would like to raise is this that the faith help to people live. You live by faith, because the faith awakens the highest feelings as compassion and kindness to others. The s...

Why God is Justified in His Actions and Why Humans Remain Ignorant

AaronTheGreat
x2MuzioPlayer

The reason humans do not understand God is because they refuse to place themselves in His position. It is obvious that humans are born babies and remain as such. Your brain does not evolve. Your brain does not change. The only thing that happens is that humans grow in size. Place yourself as the Supreme Creator or whatever name you may choose. It is only you, and a canvas of void. You may create, do, and establish whatever you please. You may lie to yourself for your own sake, but no matter what...

The Argument for/Pro presented in the debate "Atheism is reasonably impossible" is flawed

StreetLogician
errya

I would like to take up the debate started by errya in "Atheism is reasonably impossible" since his opponent has not replied. The reader should note that the Pro position here is the Con position in other debate. The argument presented for/Pro "Atheism is reasonably impossible" is flawed. It is flawed primarily for two reasons. It relies on: 1. a false dilemma (Materialism or Folk Dualism) 2. a mistaken notion of "Natural Law" (dictated versus descriptive) The first round is to present a...

The Bible has not been changed and corrupted

Yo123
kohai

I will be for that the bible has not been changed and corrupted since the time it was revealed. Con will say that the bible has been changed and corrupted from the time it was revealed, and he will have to prove that, like I will have to prove my point. I will let my opponent start first with his arguments, and then we just go from there. Thank you and good luck....

Marriage is strictly religious and is between a man and a woman

f3ffy
flaskblob

Marriage comes from the church, and the church intended for it to be between a man and a woman. Why should the government be allowed to interfere with religion? People argue separation of church and state, but that's just it, the state is interfering with the church. Marriage should stay between a man and a woman, because that's how it was intended, it isn't fair to go and change original, religious views and beliefs....

"principle of double effect" opens a slippery slope, see ectopic pregnancies

dairygirl4u2c
RocketEngineer

people say the ends do not justify the means. they use the principle of double effect as a way around what might otherwise be thought of a an evil means etc. but at least as applied in any cases I can see, and probably in theory too, it opens up to a slippery slope. people like to say these hardline rules, the ends don't justify the means but principle of double effect works, help avoid "slippery slopes" etc. but even these "principle of double effect" arguments open up a can of worms, a sli...
