Challenge debate, Please read carefully! Everything good has an evil side and every evil has a good

o0jeannie0o
Hoppi

I would like to test a theory I have found in a text on Wicca. Wiccans believe that nothing is inherently evil or inherently good. That all "good" brings a bit of "evil" and that all "evil" brings a little "good". An example in the book is that a devastating flood will bring nutrient rich soil for plants to grow. I would like my opponent to come up with the most evil things and/or the most good things that can happen (on earth). Multiple statements or "events" in each argument preferred....

The Abrahamic God exists

SarcasticMethod
Stades

The argument will be that the Abrahamic (Judeo-christo-islamic) god exists. I am taking the CON (atheistic) position. First round is for stating your position and any terms you want to define. My position is that there is no proof for the existence of the Abrahamic god (hereafter referred to as God with a capital G), and in some respects God is also logically impossible. Definition of God: He is omnipotent and omnibenevolent, he created the universe, and he judges, punishes and rewards...

Christianity(pro) vs Islam(con).

mikethedebater
Loubna

I hope someone will join me for what will hopefully be an interesting and thought provoking debate. This debate will not focus so much on theology rather than the real life implications and practices of each religion and their compatibility with modern and progressive society. I believe that the real world implications of Christianity have had a far better impact in modern society than Islam in the areas of: Peacefulness Missionary work Tolerance/liberalism Living opportunities Women'...

The Church uses fear to gain believers and has no evidence of it's doctrines

rossila13
steffon66

As the negative, I would like to contend that there is no evidence of the Church's beliefs and that the Church does not use fear to convert people. I will present my arguments in this way: Round 1- Overview of my position Round 2-Arguments and rebuttals Round 3- Any necessary rebuttals and a conclusion. Before I begin, I would like to wish my opponent the best of luck. First, my definitions. The Church is a reference to the Catholic Church as a whole, it's doctrines are it's beliefs...

The Oneness of God vs. The Trinity

TheContendr
msl101

This is a debate concerning the Christian God. In this debate, we share the burden of proof. I will be arguing for the side of Oneness theology. If you accept this debate, you will be arguing for the opposition, Trinitarianism. I would like that a Trinitarian would accept instead of a "Devil's Advocate" such as an atheist or any other form other than a Trinitarian. Any Trinitarians are welcome although I prefer someone that has foundations in the King James Version Bible who is Protestant. Rules...
