Is Prince a good Jehovah's Witness?

mightbenihilism
STALIN

The subject of this debate: Is Prince a good Jehovah's Witness? By "Prince" is meant the recording artist, Prince. By "good" is meant "obedient, or putting in a reasonable amount of effort 2 b obedient". I say: Prince is clearly violating the tenets of the Jehovah's Witnesses with his lyrics on his latest album. Let's look at some lyrics from his latest music CD PLECTRUMELECTRUM: 1. Promotes Violence "You get so much fun Dream and love each other On the others' term Taste...

Judaism is intrinsically fascist.

Magister
P.Ellis

Definitions: Fascism - "a right wing system of government characterized by extreme nationalistic beliefs and strict obedience to a leader or the state" Intrinsic "Belonging to the basic nature of someone or something" Both definitions from Compact Oxford English Dictionary Third Edition 2008 My position is in agreement with the above statement, that is I agree that what we now describe as fascism belongs to the basic nature of Judaism. The main part of my argument will focus on explaining...

Is The Trinity Biblical?

ChrisL
kasmic

(See comments for format) As always, I would like to thank my opponent kasmic for accepting this challenge. This is a topic that is very near and dear to me and I am excited to have the opportunity to defend it's truthfulness in this debate. My aim is to be as clear and as straightforward as possible with the hopes that the truth prevails and God is glorified. The thesis of this debate: Is the Trinity Biblical? I would like to take just a small space to tell you what this debate is not a...

It is Biblically ok for a Christian to raise dogs for food

mightbenihilism
dempseyktapley

I know this debate may offend a lot of people, so let me state at the outset that I am IN NO WAY, shape or FOAM in favor of actually eating dogs. I love pugs, in particular, and I would rather not eat one, even if forced to because of circumstances. I think eating dogs should be illegal everywhere in the world for the simple reason that dogs are really cool, and are more beneficial as companions, guards and seeing-eye-helpers. I also like Boston terriers, French bulldogs, and English bulldogs....

The Ontological Argument

His_Majesty
Burncastle

This argument is used very little amongst Christians who defend the faith, and I see why, as it seems like very abstract reasoning. But despite this, I think it is a very convincing argument once you think about it. This argument makes a case that a God must exist based on there mere concept of what it means to be "God". The argument has a rich history and many versions, but I like the Alvin Plantaga's version of it, which I will use with my own little twist. The argument is as follows; 1....

Bigfoot is in the Bible!

mightbenihilism
ThirdCaliber

Bigfoot is a Biblical fact. If you believe in the Bible, you must admit that Bigfoot existed in the past, at the very least, and you cannot rule out that Bigfoot does not exist presently. If you do not believe at least in the Old Testament (Tanakh), please do not enter this debate. Note: Bigfoot also means Yeti, Sasquatch, the Abominable Snow-man, the Skunk ape, and the Alma....

The term "atheist" is to be preferred to the term "agnostic."

theskeptik
Mikal

The term "atheist" is to be preferred to the term "agnostic." Agnosticism denotes a lack of knowledge ("gnosis") about a certain subject, which is misleading as much is known on the subject of the existence of God....
