Is god all knowing?

Prodebator
Valar_Dohaeris

If god doesn't knowing what yearning feels like, he isn't all knowing but if he does, he isn't all good. So, god might not be real....

Should school prayer be allowed?

jacktstrick
ColeTrain

In school, it isn't just people who want to pray. School is full of so many faiths, that if you bring religion into anything, there will be someone who doesn't believe in it, and will either be offended, or take legal action, which in turn will cause problems for the school. Everyone should believe that their faith is right, no matter how many facts prove it's wrong....

The Bible and the Church fathers support the doctrine of papal infallibility.

dsjpk5
csd0033

I would like to thank csd0033 for suggesting this debate topic, and for accepting this debate challenge. I hope this is a fruitful discussion. I wanted to give the voters a couple things to think about before casting their votes. Both my opponent and I are going to be offering many Bible verses (sometimes maybe the same ones). And both of us will be suggesting ways to interpret these verses. The key, I believe, is which interpretations coincide with what the early Christians believed.......

Can you be a Christian and believe in Evolution (the scientific theory)

Reese_G
A-True-Saint

Over the years, people on opposite ends of the science/ religion spectrum such as Ken Ham and Dawkins have created a harmful and unnecessary divide between religion and science. As with most issues, the radicals on the opposite ends of the spectrum are the loudest and most heard. However in this debate I will be giving voice and supporting the more moderate position; that one can be a Christian who believes in an all powerful God and an infallible Bible, without rejecting modern science and mode...

The Bible is a truthful record of the Earth's history

Purple_Potato
clashofclans

I believe that the bible is a factually untrue piece of literature. My reasoning is as follows: 1. The widely accepted theory of evolution, (which is backed by undeniable, hard evidence), dispels any notion of our species being created by instantly by a God. 2. Various dating methods (such as carbon dating and ice core dating) have proven that our planet is much older than the bible states it to be. 3. The story of Noah's ark has been proven to be extremely unlikely, if not false, by th...

Atheism is more logical than theism.

clmcd42
Mike_10-4

I, as Pro, will argue that atheism is more logical than theism. First, I will start out by talking about burden of proof. Burden of proof is the "obligation on a party in an epistemic dispute to provide sufficient warrant for their position" (1). This means that the person making the positive claim (in this case, theists), have an obligation to provide evidence that there is an all-powerful creator or creators that control the universe. Therefore, I would like Con to start off by providing...

Orionfletcher

PreambleThere is no reason to believe that the Jesus Christ of the Bible, virgin-born, miracle-worker, itinerant preacher and political & religious agitator, killed and resurrected and became a deity every existed. Evidence 1: No Historical RecordThe strongest evidence is that there is no actual indepedent corroborating evidence that such a man ever existed nor of his miraculous deeds.
