It's impossible to know or prove anything absolutely

darnocs1
Ramshutu

Throughout history, humans have sought after questions such as "what is knowledge?," "how do we know things?," or "how can we prove things?" While these questions are ones that deserve an answer, often times, the answer is more simple, and yet more complex, than many people consider it to be. Because it is impossible to know or prove anything absolutely, I urge you to vote Pro. For clarification purposes, I'll define a few terms: Impossible: not able to be done [1] Knowledge: be aware of th...

Evolution: True?

Skeptic8
larztheloser

I'm new at Debate.org and I don't really know how to structure an opening argument no less how to make it sound good. So I was just interested in instigating a debate that I'm knowledgeable about and picking up all the details along the way. Thanks! As for my position, I believe that evolution is one of the most well confirmed theories in science (as much as germ theory) and I am interested in hearing an opposing view on this. Hope to hear back!...

Evolution: The ramfications of multiple mutations And the necessity for Informatio.

SX23
J.Kenyon

Despite the current beliefs on the Evolution theory, this one's is not as stable as we were lead to believe. The following arguments are quite logic and do no require any specific scientific knowledge apart from bases in anatomy and biology. The basis of the theory clearly state a starting point from where a mutation occurs and cause radical or simples changes in the individual. Due to Darwin lack of recent knowledge into anatomy, specifically the way that organs interact with each others, his...

My position is that Intellectual Property should be abolished. I accept the burden of proof for this debate. Definitions: Intellectual Property- Copyrights and patents. Abolished- IP should no longer be granted legal recognition. That is, no one should be able to sue for copyright or patent infringement. First round is for definitions and for each side to state their position. The next three rounds are debate. Please only accept this debate if you intend to finish every round....

Marijuana should not be legalized

THE_OPINIONATOR
Atheism

The legalization of any drug may cause major problems in our society. When a doctor proscribes a drug it is for medical uses, but is sometimes used to get high. The patients that want to use marijuana to get high may crack the system and not need to go see a doctor. The drugs may find there way into our schools and cause a more major drug problems in our schools. If we do not want an increase of drug issues in our society Marijuana should not be legalized....

Evolution is scientific.

theLwerd
tjordan

My opponent insists that macroevolution is not scientific. Macroevolution refers to changes in organisms which are significant enough that, over time, the newer organisms would be considered an entirely new species [1]. If my opponent accepts, he may clarify any relevant definitions or terms in R1. I will begin opening arguments in R2. [1] http://atheism.about.com/od/evolutionexplained/a/micro_macro.htm...
