The way the debate works is that we both pick a band in the first round, and over the course of the debate we argue why our band is better than the opponent's.
RULES:-No solo artists (i.e. no Justin Timberlake or Justin Bieber)--Band must be from the 2000s
---Debate structure must go like this:ROUND 1: Acceptance/Statement Of Band
ROUND 2: First Arguments/First Rebuttals
ROUND 3: Second Arguments/Second Rebuttals
ROUND 4:Third Rebuttals/Concluding Arguments
The band i choose is: Death Grips

Hello IsMyNameReallyImportant,
I accept your challenge to this debate, and the band I choose is: Fall Out Boy.

Fall Out Boy was created near Chicago in 2001, so it meets the criteria of the time period.

I look forward to this debate.

I have noticed one thing about your band, and it is that it doesn't meet the criteria for the time period. You stated the band must be from the 2000's, however Death Grips formed in 2010. It's the equivalent of doing the same argument with bands from the 1960's, but your band formed in 1970... It simply doesn't count. But I'll keep arguing my case anyway.

Since Fall Out Boy formed in 2001, they have been either nominated for or won 76 awards, including Billboard Music, CMT, Grammy, and MTV Music awards (1). In addition, Fall Out Boy has had 62 charts on Billboard's Top 100 (2), has had 3 number one albums on the Billboard 200 (3), and has sold over 5.7 million albums since their first release (4) [Keep in mind, the fourth source is over two years old, and the group has sold more albums since].

Death Grips, on the other hand, has had only 9 charts on Billboards 200 (Which includes an extra 100 songs than the Billboard Top 100) (5) and has had zero number one albums. Also, Death Grips obviously has not sold a whole lot of albums or received any awards since I am unable to locate either of these numbers on the internet.

You may think that Death Grips is a better band, but they haven't been around long enough to gain as much popularity of Fall Out Boy. But that's your fault since that's the band you chose.

The entire debate revolves around which band is better. I will break down what this means:
Definition of better: of superior quality or excellence (6). Now, I will break down the word "quality"
Definition of quality: the degree of excellence of something (7).

Now, what the debate comes down to is this: Which band has a higher degree of excellence?

From my data and statistics, Fall Out Boy possesses a significantly higher degree of excellence because of their amount of Billboard hits, album rankings, number of awards received, and total number of albums sold compared do Death Grips.

Yes there is. I myself think that a band that was from the 90s or 80s could easily be better than death grips but when it comes to bands from 2000s i think that death grips is one of the best.

Excuse me, I thought you were someone else. I still ask the question, however.

Is there a reason you restrict all of your band battle debates to bands from the 2000s and beyond?
