I don't think you should becuase some people may not use protection or a guy may not want to use protection and the girl does want to then want happens then....
The age consent is what stops girls from getting pregnant at a young age. We cannot stop rape but opening and getting rid of the consent is like saying sure go and have sex without protection and get pregnant.
Well then we can make it illegal to have unprotected sex under 18. There would be major penalties like a very hefty fine or something along those lines. Because if a kid gets caught than the male can be charged with Statuatory Rape or Sex With A Minor, even if it is protected and with the woman's consent. Teenagers have hormones and are going to have sex. So all we have to do is promote protection and make unprotected sex illegal so that everybody can take advantage of their hormones without punishment.
But illegalising unprotected sex isn't going to fix anything. They're still going to do it anyway because there is no way of telling whether they have or haven't. And how many teens do you think are going to listen to promoting safe sex because I think not many will and they might be drunk or something and still have inprotected sex, scrape out lucky and regret it. So...?
