Abortion is never a good thing! But abortion should be allowed unconditionally because its the right of the parents.

From an objective point of view, abortion could be considered a good thing in that blastocysts (pre-fetal zygotes) can be and are used in stem cell and genetic research, as well as cloning. These blastocysts are sometimes retrieved from abortions, with consent, and used for research and development in the previously stated areas. Without resources like this, much of the research into stem cells would be a lot harder to achieve. The cells within a blastocyst are all stem cells and (if allowed to develop in the womb) would therefore eventually differentiate into specialized cells (liver, heart, skin etc.). This direct sourcing is clearly advantageous and much more efficient in regards to research purposes.

Abortion, as a "good thing", is obviously subjective and I'm assuming that's one of the things you realize in forming this topic. Why you want to be convinced however, I don't know.

From a non scientific perspective, you may hear an argument against abortion along the lines of: "By aborting, you could be destroying a potential life that could one day achieve great things." It is important to clarify that a zygote does not meet the biological classifications for "life", hence "potential life". Conversely to this classic argument, you could propose that the same can be said for the potential mother in question. It is just as likely, if not more so, that this woman could also one day achieve great things that she otherwise could not if she had a child. Not to mention all the other impacts of having a baby.

Some people aren't ready or don't want kids at a given point in their life. However you rationalize it, having a child will change your life. If you're not as ready or prepared for that as you can be at that point, then maybe it's not the best option to have a child.

However, if you're seeking guidance for a personal situation, you will find what you want to find. The fact that you're asking for comfort in abortion suggests it's something you want to do.

What do you mean "good thing"? A lot of people don't see it as a "good thing" but a necessary option.
